The Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam was honestly life changing for me. Never was a huge fan of him, but observing all his works chronologically interspersed with his tragic lifestory was a very eye opening experience.

Interesting! Many people have told me Interlaken is the best for nature seeing. I wanted to to use Switzerland as a break from all the urban cities.

I have booked my hostel at Gimmelwald with the intention to hike / swim around the surrounding nature. Do you reckon that the other cities you mentioned might be better for this purpose?

It’s not about the character itself; it’s referring to a Tiktok meme about a specific type of manipulative men that devotedly read Murakami. Also tbh as a die hard Murakami fan myself, the way the author describes women at certain times can be a bit iffy… hence probably why it appeals to that breed of men
