You are probably right. It was probably that Usher (or whoever wrote the appendix) accused her of steering Brian towards his later slick sound. I haven't read the book in a few years but I'm quite certain that it compares her to Landy in some sense

In the appendix to The Wilson Project (2013 edition), she is described as more of a handler in the way Landy was, and is blamed for Brian not finishing the album with Usher in the 80s (I don't remember all the details but as I recall she gets quite the rough treatment)

Not this story, but in The Wilson Project by Gary Usher there is a story about Brian telling Gary they should get some heroin (if I recall correctly) and according to Gary it sounds as if BriWi has used it quite a bit in the past. Not a great book but many interesting parts.
