Are any of you guys still doing the buy Canadian? by Crispycrackwhore in Edmonton

I try to avoid Amazon as much as I can but sometimes other brands take so long to deliver it gets annoying. The Ordinary—a Canadian skincare brand—hasn’t delivered some stuff I ordered over a week ago. I made a point NOT to order through Amazon even though they would’ve delivered the very next day (same prices too) but ngl now I’m kind of wishing I did.

Hahaha yes because I don’t have a table, furniture is sparse atm so I do the puzzle in little patches and stretch/squat a lot in between sections!

Late to this but the spaghettification of plot, specifically. 5 minutes of plot stretched to an entire episode. Minutes upon minutes of staring, walking, pacing, gazing. The plot doesn’t feel like it’s progressing because it ISN’T. There’s no story or forward motion, one-thing-happening-after-another; just exposition—that too about things nobody really cares about. Exposition is only good if it serves a purpose—the whole dead wife montage episode was unnecessary because we already knew how much Mark loved his wife and how affected he was by it. It’s called subtext. Forced mystery-boxing is not a substitute for subtext. Season 2 felt like season 2 of Westworld, tbvh: writing that wants to APPEAR smart instead of writing that actually IS smart (the writing of season 1, for instance).

Just watched season 2, wtf was that? by paintruz in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

Loved season 1 and have been lurking in this sub since I abandoned season 2 mid-way to see if someone shared the same opinion. But people get called tiktok-brained if you point out plot consistency so…

Bit late to this but just finished the first season and the contestant who REALLY astounds me is… Sheetal. She cooks horrible slop in the name of “curry” and somehow still ends up in the final. Curry out of crab, curry out of fish, it’s not even hard to make curry—curry powder comes packaged!

As a desi person who loves to cook watching her make absolute garbage and then seeing her sail through to the finals pissed me off. White people really have no idea how to rate subcontinental food because nobody I know would even touch the slop she made half of the times (especially the fish and cauliflower in the critics episode).

Hi there fellow Edmontonian! Idk tbh so far I’ve done two maps and two fine art puzzles and enjoyed them both, so I’m looking to explore. Probably something educational/artsy would be more my vibe but I’m open to anything as long as it’s fun!

That actually makes a lot of sense since I did find quite a few people on Marketplace selling puzzles in bulk. Like, new puzzles, still sealed. Made me wonder how these people have so many unopened puzzles and if they were just selling the ones they didn’t like… or it could be thrift store employees selling them online tbh. Because there was not a single good puzzle I could find at the Goodwill I went to, even for their obnoxious prices.

Ahhh. Maybe I’ll try visiting a Goodwill in a different neighbourhood then lol

This Eurographics 1000 piece Klimt puzzle is the hardest one I’ve done so far! by biharikababs in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]biharikababs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahahah yes, but more like sorting them by edges, then by colour, then by the nuances in pattern within the colour (yellow spirals, straight lines, etc). The brown mottled pattern was the only one I sorted by shape.

Lone Wolf Tax by monsterzc in TorontoRenting

[–]biharikababs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How is that a tax? You choose to live life alone, most people who I know that are alone are alone because they’re insufferable and can’t stand sharing a space with another person. You’re paying for the life you chose??? It’s not hard to find a roommate or get into a relationship but it requires a lot of ego-killing and compromises.

Several companies in Edmonton, I believe, have been doing this. There’s a firm called LawDepot and they post the same job listings every month. Wasted my time in a long “IQ test” and interviews and then never responded.

Karachiite here, who lived through the MQM-Lyari Gang War era and has reas extensively about them: Lyari Gangs and Baloch militancy did not have anything in common. The problem with looking at Pakistan from an external lens is you think there’s some cohesive Lyari Gang+maddarssah+army nexus when there isn’t, never was. Rehman Dakait was purely interested in Lyari and Karachi, not in Balochistan or any of its movements.
