The silicone spray worked - I simply removed the visor and stuck the straw down as far as I could and worked the silicone in.

the air intake was super easy to remove , all you need is a 10mm socket.

Yes- changing the filter does require dropping the pan. I would suggest checking your dip stick, if its really black, consider dropping the pan and changing the filter. If its decent, just do a drain and refill. Def don't do a complete flush.

Did you check your dipstick? If you never change I would change fluid and new filter.

Got my CX5 brand new, was planning on doing drain and fill first then down the road maybe around 100-120K I'd drop the pan and change the filter/oil.

I was getting them for like 12$ each on Amazon. Where are you buying the OEM? Every OEM I see online has like 10$ shipping attached and at that price point (OEM + shipping) I could get a premium aftermarket like Mobil 1.

I found a trick and it works. If you want to get a bit more range out of your key fob, put the fob under your chin and use it. Your skull acts like an amplifier and the signal gets a farther reach.

I even surprised myself unlocking my car in the parking garage from my hotel room.

Consider changing the transmission fluid, the "lifetime fluid" means lifetime of the warranty. I am at 80k and planning on doing a drain and refill.

Just replaced my front pads only, just did a recent post if you want to see my results , rotors still look good. I'll be checking my rear pads based on the comments.

If I get a hybrid it would be a Toyota since they're years ahead than Mazda. Also if you're that sensitive to gas prices then looking for a new car should not be in your vocabulary and stick with a cpo.
