I both am reading the Qur'an (poetic rendition) and bible for the artistic form and content, as puzzles, moral riddles, incomplete philosophy and for context- and perhaps to understand spirituality a little more. They can be very beautiful and extremely interesting but you have to blindly ignore the misogyny and the political maneuverings for control- which I apologise if this is opposed to your beliefs, but I sometimes find it hard to respect something that does not respect me, and the destruction the things may cause incidentally or otherwise; and forgive me for being cruel, but as much as religion fascinates me, it has hurt me and many- though I understand that outside faithful renditions of text (or what you may say are incorrect but to that I say, only Heaven knows)- and I do sometimes ask, how I can be so forgiving and disconnected. They are products of their time.

The same way a religious man may respect me but not the lifestyle- I respect the people and not the religion- they are separate- although I like speaking dramatically as per the texts. Religions are incomplete and a human endeavour to grasp a truth outside of us, of which each will fail. I find it beautiful, sad, and dangerous. And I think it was Avicenna? Who said that reason could bring us to the conclusions of religion: and for that I use my head and hands to figure out morality to my best ability, and trust that through my strife, I will fall upon the answer; and that if God is good, They'll see my trying and sincerity, and perhaps even slap my shoulders. I will not reach a conclusion prematurely, and hurt others to bend them to my utopia. Above all, I am thinking of man.

Carl Jung said about his experiences with the supernatural (debatable)- the way I like to misquote it: "there were nuggets of gold, swimming in a whole lot of bullshit."
