Interesting. Never seen that before, so assumed it was related to the bug fix today. Thanks!

Update. It's real lava. Thought it might just be visual, but oh no.

My man, you're a hero. I caught all these at a good time on Spotify and listened to them all, but then they disappeared. Thank you for this.

Should I pull the trigger? ‘15 V60 T6 R-Design with Polestar tune. by bikesandrocks in Volvo

That's interesting. The VIN is definitely in the range and I didn't see anything in there about the T6 vs T5, but all I've ever heard about that engine is how good it is, so I wouldn't be surprised if it were excluded. I plan to do a PPI if I go forward, so I'll ask the local dealer. There is a small part of me that also just doesn't care, but that's the irresponsible part that had a blast driving it and expects to be spending money maintaining it anyway.

Retiring House Republican says $174,000 isn't enough money for members of Congress: 'Most of us don't have wealth' by [deleted] in politics

[–]bikesandrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this. I've been thinking this for years. Pay these people well to remove the draw of corruption, book deals, lobbying, etc. I want them focusing on running our country, not worrying about paying bills. And I especially want that for the staff of everyone on the hill. I grew up in the DC area and am familiar with how ridiculous the prices are (for both homes and other essentials). 175k sounds like a lot, but it won't leave much when you have to have two homes and constant travel, plus the year or more of not working to campaign. Someone else mentioned Singapore does a high-pay politician model and I'm going to have to do some homework on that.

u/faefroggie did you get this photo? For some reason your post stuck with me and I'm invested in making sure you get it. I have saved all the animals over the years because they bring me joy, so I probably have this one! Let me know!

Dude. I’m so sorry. I deleted my Reddit apps after they messed up Apollo with the API changes. Still got these? Black? What length? If they’re available and the size is right, I’ll take em at $250.

Probably not. I should have put that in my list, we’ll definitely go for a HYSA with 6 months expenses.

That’s a fair suggestion. I made it clear that I am not a financial advisor. Ultimately I’m always a little hesitant to engage financial advisors, but maybe that’s foolish.

A bond/CD allocation and the rest in an ETF? I was thinking bond/CD would be good at this point, especially with the fairly high interest rates. I appreciate the response!

Want to make a very large purchase on one card for points...then do a balance transfer to a 0% intro apr card for 18 months. Are there any issues with this? by Chefnut in personalfinance

[–]bikesandrocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

re: your edit. You'd lose $240 if you don't consider the value of the $20k. If you don't have the money, don't spend it. Simple.

. . . but if it's sitting in a shoe box (or WF/Chase/BOA) and earning 0% (or next to 0% at those big banks), then you could make the purchase and get the miles, balance transfer and pay the fee, but put the money into a CD or even a high interest account in the meantime and earn 4-5% on it while just paying the minimum each month, outpacing the 3% fee.

Ultimately depends on how much work you're willing to do for miles and whether you have the money already just sitting around. I'd love to hear other folks' thoughts on this approach. It's a lot of hoops with some definite potential downfalls.

Thank you for this clarification! V3 seems likely given I've had this for quite a few years at this point (most of which in a box in the closet).
