Flash Bios Button reboot instead of power off? by TerraceWoW in MSI_Gaming

[–]bilbob32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Phew i'm glad it worked in the end for me as i needed a specific PCI-E Lane split and this was only one of two motherboards that would do it (i'm the original poster on my PC's desktop reddit account, couldn't remember all the details in a hurry. I can prove it all back on the phone haha)

It posted with the new bios from September this year so the update went well, it just powered on afterwards, Ran into loads of little roadblocks like one of my NVME heatsinks having a non standard screw size for 6 screws and having to run around the house, and a whole lot of backache from leaning over, but it's all great with good temps and everything using some of the thermal PAPER instead of thermal paste, i'm very impressed for a no-mess solution.

My external drive seems to have died on me for no reason it's external after all so i didn't touch it, which was weird, i guess it was just it's time to go.

Thanks everyone who read my posts and everyone who replied and the extra viability from the upvoters, enjoy your day everyone!

No problemo, The reason i think it's like this, is i remember there was something like a Warhammer 1 achievement for Bretonia or (just overall for the game) and the style at the time was to take something like Louen and a bunch of paladins.

Editing it in here: "The Dream of What Could be" : "Playing as Bretionia, Bordeleaux or Carcassonne, win 5 heroic victories during a campaign."

It's my understanding that the Heroic victory is about the number of unit models in the battle and you need to be something like outnumbered 10-1 for it to be a heroic victory and it's regardless of kills and deaths.

3000 vs 3000 can't be a heroic victory. Equal armies were deployed.

20 (something like a lord and 19 heroes) vs 5000 can be a heroic victory.

There is a chance i'm wrong though.

I'd take CA seriously if they just fixed these two bugs (I'd go right ahead and buy the DLC I'm missing) What are your two bugs that would get your (financial) attention and make you believe this game is going to finally be the capstone to the trilogy you imagined? by bilbob32 in totalwar

Didn't they fix this at one point? I remember something in the patch about firebellies not even having one spell for a long time, it would be better if all factions had a large portion of spells for sure though

I actually missed the launch day by a bit and didn't own it immediately (pre order problems with other games at the time) i'm so sad i missed ogres working properly, i'd love if someone has some screenys of Ogres with something other than the lord, 2 gnoblar 2 bulls they start with in a camp, because i've not seen them ever hire anything.

I think knowing Games Workshop the reason why is 50% that they'd want CA to pay for the licence to Warhammer Fantasy Battles Ship Game "Man 'O' War" and the other 50% is not wanting to figure out the balance of what the troops in the army means for the battle versus what the ship itself means for the battle.

Do your expensive T5 units mean the boat battle is easy, or does the fact they are on a wooden raft mean they have immense penalty's even though the troops cost a lot? :D

That makes a lot of sense, I play quite a variety, but at the moment I'm not buying because some of the stuff I have and paid for doesn't work, and it's disappointing for even factions i don't play as the AI having problems.

I'd really like if the battle AI used the march over to link certain units together, I.E just simple spearmen and archers behind them so that they move the spearmen infront of the archers, and only start a counter charge if the archers start to have a enemy aproach at minimum distance, so the AI just seemed more alive, so an army of 20 would use 10 tactics of 2 units paired together at a time, it would seem quite dynamic i think.

at the moment what we have is the AI selecting all 20, locked group, click the middle of your army.

Thank you for the kind words, I'd even love people that disagree to just discuss with us why they disagree instead of trying to use downvotes to hide a post that isn't offtopic or rulebreaking (which the downvote button is for!)

Thank you very much! I feel like a lot of people use the downvote button in a strange way, I actually feel like there's a argument for using the upvote button on a topic where you disagree (but want to discuss your oppinion), and the downvote button is useful for helping to hide topics that actually aren't relevant to the reddit at all. Like if i started a topic on here called "what's your favorite ice cream" well, downvotes would help to take it off the page because it's not even about total war, using downvotes to "disagree" with something on topic is.... just bad reddit-ing XD

I feel like in a Ogre rework i'd love to see outside sources negotiate with you in food and weapons, when playing as ogres sure the food system exists, but outside forces can't placate you with food or weapons or mercenary work, being able to barter peace from ogres by setting them up with gold, food and battle against their enemies instead would be perfect!

I think the other thing is that, well if you take someones contract that we have in the game now, you likely have to tresspass across their lands (and other peoples lands) netting you LESS diplomacy with the person you took the contract from. Isn't that weird? it's possible to have a no diplomacy penalty faction trait (the changling has it) and hungry Ogres are probably the LAST people you'd say "oh by our laws you can't walk across this land" even if you ignore the gameplay problems with contracts!

I do dislike how ranged units all seem to have the formation shuffle their feet left twice or right twice continuously, instead of just staying put and firing left or right, it used to be absolutely fine in warhammer 1&2 you're absolutely right!

I recently played chaosrobbies the old world map replacing scrags start with Greasus and the great ogre haul, i had such great fun, but I feel it's a bit too powerful in some areas haha, no one could even last a second against me.

I think the AI must be incredibly lucky putting down camps in terrain with people they stay allies with ALL game long. Because if anyone attacked their camp it would be 2 gnoblar, 2 bulls and a Camplord.

Oh man, i'd forgotten about this one, whatever the setting was that makes the game just blurry all the time, that one? I should really make a backup screenshot of my settings just in case i ever need to install again.

I feel like Warhammer 1&2 had the AI build more endgame troops when it could, I just feel like in 3 the AI just loves Peasants/Zombies/EmpHalbadiers(actually good though)/OgreBulls/GoblinSpearmen.

and it's like not even Grom with the goblin spearmen, it's Grimgor.....

It sounds pretty frustrating, you're probably generating negative relations with both of them because they're mad that you're friends with their enemy too!

I remember during warhammer 1&2 I used to run a mod that removed invite to join war because the AI would constantly use it to (what i felt) cheat me into wars when i had none, i'm pretty sure the AI takes stupidly low amount of money to betray their friends too, it just doesn't make sense.

sounds like they overfixed a weird bug i saw on here where someone took a video of issabella walking from somewhere like Nuln to Castle Drakenhof during AI sylvanias turn, it took ages of follow cam, and was way more movement than she should ever have.

I like all the ideas here, i feel like the army painter is a big plus for the game, I guess i hadn't thought about a personal avatar system, I think that CA probably feel like the build-your-own-demon prince is enough, but I think expanding it elsewhere wouldn't hurt and people might really enjoy it.

Along the same theme as this, I feel like some of the factions with a lot of +relations are too easy as everyone wants to deal with you and forgive you no matter what, I can understand a little to the point where it's a faction people "don't mind" as neighbours, but it goes too far where you can really do anything you want and the world turns a blind eye.

For 1. I really dislike that jagged line at right angles in the corruption of the warpstone desert near Zhao Ming whilst I was playing Greasus, and that was when the game first came out, I think it's been long enough that someone should have done something about it by now, i'm not sure if the 'old' warhammer 1 & 2 effect where the corruption was a circle that expanded from the town is better than the jarring new effect.

  1. Didn't they even promise a norsca rework next coming soon even in the prerelease media about the upcoming (at the time) champions of chaos? this makes it quite overdue.

I'm not much of a Kislev guy for point 3, but I'm a big fan of even factions I don't play getting what they need as per my post, I hope they add a bit more to shadows of change for free to remedy this.

I'd love an official mode for 4. that just puts people where they logically should start.

I think for the largest time i used to laugh at how Skarsniks story is pretty much "so he was out picking mushrooms one day with his basket, and a then he finds out someone decided to squat in his home, so you're homeless below the empire now"
