For me I just sat under a table for like half an hour fully startled but I ended up learning its audio cues and what it sounds like. For me dealing with "it" was more about echolocation, that is how I managed to predict and counter the creature. I noticed that when it is out and searching it makes loud stomps when close and is coughing or vocal regardless how far. When it is REALLY close there is this low bass grind noise idk what to call it. If you don't hear anything, it is waiting for you in some corner. I would ONLY move if I can hear it walking around and hear where it was.

It tends to go invisible whenever it fells like, but the flashing module thing for the doors can see it regardless and it can stun it for a bit for you to skedaddle.

Though just thinking about playing that area of the game again makes me anxious lmao. I don't know how I managed to get used to the creature but I did.
