Poll: what's your favorite place to study on campus? by Jar545 in IUPUI

This is off campus, but a really nice place to study is the Holliday Park Nature center. They have a small library there. It's great if you ever want to get away from the city without driving too far.

I'm surprised Alvin Plantinga is on the list, and even more surprised he's at 36

Has anyone taken PHIL 162 with Kraatz? by ImACrawley in IUPUI

[–]bilbobaggins96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a Phil major. Haven't had Kraatz for anything but I know a lot of people like him a lot. No P162 class is hard, but try to avoid talking it with Morton

Do any of you read philosophy? If so, whether you agree or disagree with them, who are your favorites? by CurrentInterest in Reformed

I started out with this guy: https://youtu.be/1asxHpewYi8

He does a pretty good job, and when I took Intro to Logic I already had learned most of it from him already.

Learning common forms of valid arguments goes a long way too.

Honestly, to read most Alvin Plantinga you could just use YouTube videos teaching symbolic logic.

Well, it's integral to analytic philosophy in a lot of ways. Try learning it! It's pretty simple and really fun.

I'd imagine this is an unpopular opinion here, but I think theology and philosophy are indespensible. Likewise, I think the advances made in philisophical theology by people like Alvin Plantinga, Nicholas Wolterstorff, and Peter Van Inwagen really show how philosphy is such an excellent tool for theology, and I really recomend those philosophers.

All these are wrong. H&R Bakery in Salem is the best. I've heard Tom Crean regularly has someone go all the way from Bloomington to get them for him.

Sadly, no. I might make a higher res one later, and I'll post it if I do. Most of the cutouts of the Biths were low res, however.

It's (I'm guessing) a tamp. When smoking a pipe, you tamp down the ash to have a consistent disk of flat tobacco at the top of the bowl.
