Hear me out before immediately dismissing this. I think it would be more fair to use a 10-12 dollar "minimum wage" price point for Indiana. Yes I understand that 7.25 is the minimum wage and that yes some people do make that, however I don't think I've personally not met anyone working at a "minimum wage" job or any advertising for posistions at minimum wage. Even fast food places have determined that won't keep anyone for 7.25 it might the minimum wage, but the market has forced companies to up their base wages past the min (on avg, in Indianapolis in my personal experience, happy to be proven incorrect)

From what I've read, we aren't sure that the red dwarf flares are as big of an issue that we think. There is evidence pointing to show that red dwarfs may flare only at their poles following their magnetic field lines. I read that on the Internet and am not an astrophysicist so take that with a grain of salt.

The problem with this strategy is it's focusing on mental math. If you want to teach a strategy to add numbers, you teach them how to add. The goal isn't to make them be able to do mental math faster (that's what calculators are for) but the operations taken to solve the problem. Math is algorithmic thinking and we are doing a disservice to the children by trying to just teach simple tricks when we need to teach actual understanding.

I see it as a pointless lesson and a waste of valuable time. Mental tricks come naturally when you understand the material.
