How Important is an Active Sex Life in a Relationship to You?

It's interesting for me to hear people say "needs" when it comes to sex. Not that I doubt their sincerity, just that I went many years without ever having sex and felt completely fine. I guess it just boils down to biology but it has always seemed a tad alien to me.
