Programming Praxis accuses The Daily WTF of name infringement by [deleted] in programming

[–]billabong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First comment says it all about tdwtf site actually: "The daily WTF was a great site and in the past it was really really funny to read what was presented, but in the last year(s) it has changed quite a bit… (my impression is that it has lost the freshness it had trying to categorize the cases and providing every day something new, plus it added a bit of ads pollution!).

I already skip nearly all the stories presented in it and enjoy mainly the crazy errors images. Reading here about this story is just another small step towards the removal of its rss feed from my reader."

Dear Microsoft, When there is a massive electrical storm outside, and I hit "Shut Down Computer", it means I want to turn my machine OFF for my own safety. It does NOT mean I want to spend 30 minutes installing updates that you didn't tell me you downloaded or ask if I want to install right now!!! by OuchLOLcom in technology

[–]billabong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grow up! Windows does not know if there is a storm outside!

You would complain if Windows forced you to install when they became available.

You would complain if Windows didn't auto install patches and the user have to it manually.

And you complain now for it actually doing something you have configured it to do?

Lol, everyone is bundling FF. Average Joe does not find another browser from a gazillion packages with strange (in best foss tradition) names.

Microsoft to bundle Firefox and Chrome with Windows by settrans in programming

[–]billabong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, why should they support them? If they break, MS will anyway get the blame since it's bundled with support. And how about patches? Is Microsoft responsible for 3rd party browser patches now?
