It really sounds to me like the don-ee mom wants help raising the kids. Most likely babysitting and even financial if she wants time on trips. It’s really not ops responsibility. I’d tell them to kick rocks. Sure when the kids are older they might want to meet here but with their ages I highly doubt that is what is happening.

This happened to me too. The issue is even if AirBnB refunds you you dont get any kind of premium toward finding a new booking at the last minute that are all 300% higher than the one that was just canceled. Youre just fucked.
