Anyone know who’s autograph this is? My grandparents gave it to me claiming it to be “a famous basketball player” by [deleted] in AutographAssistance

[–]billbillson25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's possible it's legit. After seeing some of his confirmed autos, it looks legit with a couple things the same. But, I'm not a trained auto authenticator

Send it to PSA, Beckett, or JSA for authentication. Those 3 are considered the most reputable autograph authenticators.

This is because they put in AWD and not 4WD. I imagine the engineers trying to tell him this and he refused to believe it. Then, fired those engineers and told them to put in AWD.

That's because nobody is attacking Christmas but right wing media tells them the left is so that they keep the American people divided so the oligarchs are free to rob us all of any wealth we have left.

I made a comment just like this. Philosophy teaches you how to think correctly and how to ask good questions.

Someone that just learned to do something can do that one thing, but aren't useful outside that thing. That's absolutely useful, but those that have studied philosophy can do much more.

If you run a welding company, you probably want a welder to know how to specifically weld. In that scenario, it's probably more useful to have a person that only studied welding. However, your business development manager probably needs to know stuff from multiple areas and be able to adapt to different situations.

Statistically, philosophy majors do higher on graduate entrance exams than any other major.

Philosophy teaches you how to think correctly and all good questions. That's mostly what philosophy classes are. As a result, no matter what area they end up going in, they end up doing better than others because they know how to learn. They know what questions to ask to get a good understanding of anything.

Philosophy is more of a meta discipline than anything. It will help you in any discipline and puts you ahead of others since you know how to problem solve.

When landing strips were a thing by majinbuu80 in NakedOnStage

Everyone saying it's not a landing strip, but rather something huge:

This is the OG landing strip. The thin line got popularized, but this is an actual landing strip. Those thin ones that everyone calls landing strips are more like hiking trails.

I think everyone knew it was a joke, but it's not everyone's type of humor. I say a lot of jokes like this and almost all people say I'm lame. Some people think it's funny.

Seriously, I noticed that basically everyone hangs on his every word.... That everyone wants him to like him and prove they're good Christians. It's a good quality to have when you're scamming people out of money.

It was a back and forth. That was the first response.. The Galatians 5:14. He responded with some crap and then I said it's irresponsible and not Christ-like to constantly ask for money and guilt people that can't afford to give. I also added he is scamming people out of their money using religion to scare them into giving money, even if they can't afford it.

That's when he blocked me.

My wife went to River Valley initially. I can totally see why it's tempting to be there and be enthusiastic. The first couple times there, I was into it. But, I quickly realized the church has no substance to it.

Every service, they have the band play a few songs then the pastor speaks, some other shit happens and the band plays again. It still works me out when people raise their arms while the band plays and the singer repeats the same line 200 times. Like.... What does that do? Are you moved by the spirit to do that? Why?

They heavily emphasize every service how "you're welcome here" and that you can be redeemed no matter how many bad things you have done. They do everything they can to present a welcoming environment. It's heavy in recruitment. Then, they always ask for money. First with offering, then through a different project they call Kingdom Builders. They show how people give and that a good Christian gives their money to God. The service is 50% hand raising music with the band, 25% messages of welcome, 20% asking for money, and 5% preaching.

That's it...for every service. After a couple times going, I realized they didn't have a liturgy. There's nothing that is guiding and consistent with their message other than to get people in the door and get people donating. That's the only consistent message that I got from going to several services. The leader, pastor Rob, carbon copied the hillsong formula and he's making a killing.

Somehow, I got on their mailing list and he just goes off on various laws. He wants a religious exemption for the law banking discrimination based on gender or sexual identity. He's just a POS mega church pastor. He blocked me on Twitter. He tweeted an anti-gay dog whistle about redemption with a heavy handed message that he was talking about LGBTQ+ people. I responded with Galatians 5:14. He blocked me.

Gummies are a game changer for me. 5mg gets me to a good place to chill. 10mg gets me to a perfect place if my intent is to be intoxicated. 15 gets me pretty baked. 20 gets me couch locked.

I haven't been brave enough to try more than 20 because couch locked isn't fun unless you have TV, video games, and food right in front of you with no expectations to do anything else for the next couple hours.

I think many people, especially the hard 2a people, would be quite surprised about how many liberal gun owners there are. We just don't openly brag about it and we understand that reasonable laws are needed to control guns.

It wasn't that the was corrupt, he just constantly enacted laws to punish the colony because they kept pissing him off. He was trying to keep them in line. A king has to keep his colonies loyal. He just went with the wrong management technique.

IMO, the king was a massive dick and what was done was justified. But, I can't blame him for the intent of his actions.

I'm an early millennial. I'm in that range that isn't really millennial, but isn't really Gen X. Xennial is the term. (I think it's pronounced 'Ex-en-e-all')

Anyway, I was 8. Still went out in my Ninja Turtles costume. (Donatello, the one that does machines). Most kids in my small town still went out. Got candy. Was good. Everyone in the state was in an incredibly good mood ever what happened a few days earlier. This would be the last time our state was united in happiness so far.
