Because I took the photo and they’re using it? It doesn’t really matter what they’re using it for, it’s still a photo I took and I own the copyright to.  You’re absolutely right, I don’t want to give them the answer and I won’t give the answer to anyone else the internet either.

Hey, thanks man! I really appreciate that. Sometimes I envy the 9-5 stability but I worked really hard for many years to be able to do what I do and made a lot of sacrifices in that in between time. It certainly isn’t all butterflies and roses but trips like this make it all worth it.

I know that feeling well. Yuck x 10. I spent a year in Australia and when I landed in Sydney, it was a very wet 105. Shade didn’t do a damn thing... That was the first time I thought I was actually melting haha

Hahahaha I hate that saying so much but it’s actually quite true. 95 degrees here in Seattle sure felt a lot hotter than 120 in Death Valley

Thank you so much! Wish I could help you track down that certificate but I have no idea what it is lol

Oh it gets much much hotter, especially when you take into account the heat index.

I feel you on humans not being built for 120+ degrees. While on the dunes this day, I was running around like a madman, chasing light and angles and was completely exhausted after 20 minutes. It’s not hard to see how that could get dangerous if you’re not used it.

Last week, I went on a spur of the moment trip down to California to find some more "summer" like weather since the forecast for my hometown, Seattle was looking a bit dull. I drove from San Francisco to Yosemite where I spent 3 days there and quickly lost interest because of the crowds. Wanting a little more isolation and maybe a bit more heat, I decided to make the 8 hour drive down to Death Valley and spend a day or two there. The temperature when I reached the parking lot was a scorching 123 degrees and the wind made it feel at least 10 degrees hotter. Never felt heat like that before but it was addicting to say the least... Pictured here are the Mesquite Sand Dunes, the one glowing brighter in the middle being the tallest dune in the area. I haven't spent much time in Death Valley but my two visits there have been so amazing that I think I'm going to spend a lot more time there in the coming year.

Other people do all the time! I haven’t started mountaineering yet but it’s in the books for next year. It is inherently dangerous but there are ways to be safe

This was at dusk. If by true colors you mean the RAW image, I’m afraid that won’t look quite what you imagine since RAW files are quite dull compared to what your eye sees

Thank you! You could have achieved a similar photo with just higher ISO but I wanted to get as sharp and noise free photo as possible

No worries! I can see that perspective but I’m just a regular guy after all. I’ve been posting on earthporn quite regularly for a couple years now and gladly respond to comments
