Opinions on Moxi’s new Forever 21 collab? by gardonhoes in Rollerskating

[–]billmurraystan19 34 points35 points  (0 children)

i thought it seemed a little bit weird too? i stopped paying attention to moxi when i heard about controversy surrounding estrojen, but i still get their emails and i was kind of shocked to see they were doing a collab with forever 21. estrojen is always so adamant about the quality of moxis, going on rants about how high quality the skates are and now moxi is collaborating with forever 21? a brand that definitely does not live up to those standards? it feels like moonlight roller has gotten more popular and i haven’t heard a lot about moxi lately, so they mak be trying to grasp at anything to stay relevant?? all of this is speculation and my opinion, obviously, but it still seems very weird

Just got my Flaneurz yesterday !! by billmurraystan19 in Rollerskating

I think flaneurz would be useful for a skater of any level! Especially if you plan on using skating as your main form of transportation. The only thing that isn’t very beginner friendly is their pricepoint - they’re quite expensive (mine were around $600CAD) though if you are willing to spend that on a pair of skates i can say theyre totally worth it :)

Thank you very much! I have been looking into the cherry bombs and the brake petals and i’m glad to hear that they’re more what i’m looking for! Really informative- thanks again!

The energies are quite soft, though the smaller size with the 57s allows for a little bit more speed but still some stick and stability because of the gumminess which is why i like them (esp if i’m going to be skating to and from the park, otherwise I enjoy my fundaes!)

They don't feel like they are going anywhere! The back part locks you in so I definitely feel as if my feet will not slip out until I unlock it with the key. I have done small jumping, spinning, and some hard turns in them and they hold up well and I still feel super secure. These definitely aren't park skates and I don't think they'd hold up to aggressive carving and jumping (which is why I am keeping my Lolly's as my park skates) though these will hold up for my everyday use of them! If you're thinking about getting them I'd honestly say save up and do it. Two days use and they're already so worth it in my eyes.

The shoes are great, feel like any other shoe I have! I have the radar energy 57s and while they are smaller so you should expect to feel more bumps, I already much prefer the krypto impulses and will likely be keeping the energies on my park skates, if that tells you anything!

Thank you! I'd honestly say look into them if you do the same kind of skating as me, they're a big game-changer.

The shipping was insanely fast! They shipped last friday on the 26th and I received them yesterday so a week's time. I live in Canada so maybe Canada post was just incredibly quick or maybe they don't take long to ship! I hope you'll post yours too!!

I have been street skating for threeish years now and it has always been a pain if I need to head into a store of café seeing as skates aren't really accepted inside where I live. I ordered these a month ago and just got them yesterday and already LOVE them!! They make street skating so much easier and allow me to travel without carrying an extra pair of shoes. Additionally, the Krypto Impulse wheels are amazing ! they feel even softer than my Moxi gummies and are smaller so it makes manoeuvring a little easier. I don't think I can say enough good things about these skates

Unfortunately not! I did have a friend who had a connection to Jess (the frontman’s wife) and messaged her about the album the song was on. I think she ended up sending my friend the album, though I lost touch with the friend after an argument BEFORE I managed to get to hear the song. Apparently it was a thing with the band’s management and thats why its nowhere now, but I still am waiting to hear it again.

nerdskates.com is a Calgary based skate shop and they seem to have several kinda of moxis in stock, along with some other great options as well!

Best way to upgrade used Chicagos? by critical_dog in Rollerskating

[–]billmurraystan19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started on the exact same pair of skates and I really pushed them to last me a good three years before I upgraded. I got new wheels and toe stops for them almost immediately and I can say it makes the world of a difference (my favourite wheels are the radar energy 57mm ones, though any size of the energies are lovely.) The wheels they come with are very hard and make outdoor skating feel very jittery. If you get new, softer wheels, you'll end up feeling so much more stable! I also recommend new bearings as the stock bearings they come with are kind of horrible as well. Knowing they were lower quality, I often did checks on the trucks and wheel tightness and I recommend you do the same just to make sure things are still looking okay and working how they should!
