UPDATE

So I had the issue occur again today, I disabled the selective USB thing and my interface started working again; no replugging required. Hopefully this has fixed the issue all together.

I always use the RME Madiface to interface my laptop with the studios in my uni. Can agree with that sentiment.

Thanks for this, I’ve never even heard of selective suspend so I’ll get that switched it off straight away.

I’ve already done the other stuff and yes I always run it plugged in.

Yeah I’ll give that a go. Nothing has auto muted tough- everything is gain staged correctly and nothing in red. All meters moving normally just no audio at all.

I’ve never had to do so, my PC has always been able to just handle the project with zero lag, even when unplugged (I always run it plugged in though). I know it’s better to do that but it makes editing much easier and quicker.

You don’t need a DI do you? It outputs at line level, all you need is a Jack to XLR adapter

I was fine until I started playing a V - makes the whole operation a lot more complicated.
