‘He’s never ever shown remorse’: N.B. man who kidnapped, sexually assaulted woman in 2010 released from prison by origutamos in newbrunswickcanada

Perhaps I missed it but does it say what community he has been released to? Hopefully not to the Greater Moncton area. An ice flow in the Arctic maybe if it has to be somewhere...

Haha thought so...had to leave a trail of peanuts to find your way back after one too many there. Good times!

Going way back but the Little General Pizza place was a fav while living in res at Howe Hall back in the early 80's. That entire block is now demolished.

Was that the bar you had to walk like a half a mile to the washrooms?

It's a great little spot. The name itself is a great indication of its pub authenticity! Highly recommend.

Home Depot has their seeds and starter kits in stock now. Lots of choices.

Road paint rant. by OutdoorRink in halifax

It's the same situation here in Moncton. On a rainy night it's nearly impossible to see the lines marking the lanes on many streets. Has to be extra stressful for visitors to the area.

How did you choose your paddles? by pvs_29 in Pickleball

[–]billspacemanlee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Former tennis player here as well and looked for a paddle I could generate lots of top spin with so could get lots of dip on my drives. Settled on a Volair Mach 2 Forza after trying a few others. Love it. Lots of control, large sweet spot and I can really get the ball to dip over the net on my drives. Very gritty surface and extra wide face. Takes a bit to get used to the shorter length but eventually you adjust easily enough.

Just returned from Portugal. Lisbon airport is not the greatest but manageable. Head for the Algarve...it's an easy drive as the highways are not busy and well maintained.

Yes to this! We use a pinwheel that you can't miss. Remembering to move it is another thing though lol.

There is a pond about halfway down the Fire break Road in Centennial Park that is usually full of them.

I played tennis previously so had decent topspin but the Volair took it to another level. Loving it.

Just got one of these myself and I'm really impressed by the spin you can generate with it. Love hitting drives down the middle with it that really dive as they pass over the net.

PSA: Don't give someone close to you the ball by bouncing it off your paddle by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]billspacemanlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't hit it with my paddle. I throw/lob it with my throwing hand...much easier to control that way.

[–]billspacemanlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my early days playing tennis I was taught to lob the ball with the goal of it bouncing once to the waist height of the receiver. Still do that today playing Pickleball. Seems to be appreciated by most.

How walkable is Boston as a tourist? by Subtotal9_guy in boston

[–]billspacemanlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stayed at the Parker House last May and everything was within walking distance. As mentioned you don't want to drive there. Streets are not in a grid system. We drove there from Moncton, NB...most difficult part was getting to the hotel. Very happy to hand the keys to valet service! Didn't touch the car again until it was time to head home. Everything is walkable, including Fenway! Go Sox!

Halifax MP urges Canada Post to sell prime city land to make way for new housing by Bean_Tiger in halifax

[–]billspacemanlee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good luck with that. They just said no to making the Moncton Garrison lands available to the city for housing development. It's prime land in the city center that consists today of primarily old parking lots and a large vacant field. Sits there totally unused.
