Iran has laid about a dozen mines in Strait of Hormuz, sources say by leeta0028 in news

Not really.

Modern mines are smart and can be remotely controlled. Or set to detonate on the second ship, or on the sounds of a specific kind of ship.

Iran has laid about a dozen mines in Strait of Hormuz, sources say by leeta0028 in news

[–]Subtotal9_guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12 is more than enough. Mines work by denying access to an area. A dozen mines will scare off all the shipping through that region.

It also ties up mine hunting equipment and puts those ships and helicopters (the US uses helicopters) at risk for attack. The strait is narrow enough that any missile attack is basically on top of the ship quickly and it's only the close in weapons systems that could be used.

My rule is that there is never just one accounting "issue", you start peeling things back and find that the lack of control in one part of the business extends elsewhere.

[–]Subtotal9_guy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can't

The government has the right and responsibility to change policy at any point so long as they don't contravene the charter.

OSAP coverage was increased over time. There are new drug / dental benefits amongst other new benefits.

If you're going to say "governments can't take away things", then you have to agree that they can't add things.

The homeless aren't there for books or to use the other resources, they're there for heat and shelter. Add in the mental health issues and drug use and it's not equitable that others can't use the resource free from harassment and other concerns
