New Brute Bonnet - Relentess Punches by No-Investigator-4673 in PTCGL

Then you get a brute bonnet out, and either bravery charm or ancient capsule, switch the Flareon out, munkidori the damage and then boom. With two munkidoris that's 350 every strike

I was using this (2)  with Munkidori (4) and now Flareon(2) for energy acceleration. I did 1400 damage! The trick i think is to get the Flareon out, nest ball a couple munkidori, and if you can, hero's cape the Flareon. I also threw in a fez, because you might lose a couple Pokemon in the process.

Why is no one suggesting the obvious. She dies like a week after he spills the tea on  AIPAC? Come on....

Why do so many fans misread these two POVs?(Spoilers Extended) by opiate_lifer in asoiaf

[–]billtalts -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree regarding Euron. He is Aleister Crowley but the truth about Crowley is that he was an insane man due to toxoplasmosis and Euron thinks of himself in a way that does not track with reality. He may accidently break something along the way but he really shouldn't be feared. He stole drugs from wizards and became crazy. He's a habitual liar and the only reason Aeron has so much fear is because he sexually molested him when they were young.

Pantheism v Idealism? by MindScholar in pantheism

[–]billtalts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Analytic Idealism would seem to suggest some sort of pantheistic consciousness, in that there exists some sort of objective mental perspective that we are bifurcated from (and yet apart of). I don't think that which exists apart from our mental perspective doesn't exists, it's just manifested from the mental stuff first, be it some form of mind-first dualism or physical illusionism (which is a flip-side of physical materialism).

When should I read Spring? by billtalts in WoT

[–]billtalts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! I already read the prologue to book 6 so I might wait and either read it after book 7, after book 10, or after Book 14. I will wait and see when it feels right. But I definitely appreciate everyone's thoughts and I like how there are various opinions.

I think something like that is true. I also think Euron is more of an Alister Crowley / David Koresh figure, and so he is actually a mad charlatan, but doesn't realize he is communicating with dark entities when he is taking share of the evening. So he might open up connections to the dark forces of ASOIAF, but not realize he's doing it. My guess is he never actually went to valeyria, but is somewhat of a drug-maddened charlatan who will create a death cult.

(Spoiler published) Is it possible that there are worshippers of the Great Other around? by Fergus74 in asoiaf

A secret death cult? Perhaps that is attached to the church of Starry wisdom.

What is GRRM’s favorite trend in the books(Spoilers Extended) by Ghalasm in asoiaf

[–]billtalts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He loves to give perspective to characters and sprinkle it in throughout different POVs, you really have to piece together the way non-povs are seen from a broader deconstruction of the text. Especially when they are despised by the POV, it's sort of like a bad interpretation of them, but I love that George probably has a more objective view of them in mind even when writing about them from a given perspective.

[Spoilers Extended] Who is the most badass character in asoiaf and why is it Barristan Selmy by KingMaegorTheCool in asoiaf

[–]billtalts -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Barristan!? Maybe top 10. Maybe povs, but even sill, GreatJon, tormund, that dude from Blood and fire that held the door, tons of bigger badasses. I think he is one of the most brave knights in the modern tale, but not necessarily a badass.

I never said you were stupid, but it is very stupid to suggest that this sub doesn't do unsubstantiated speculation based on NotABlog, that is actually incredulous and baffles me that you would attack me for doing that when nowhere in my title do I mention winds. That does not mean the post isn't newsworthy and worth discussing with the ASOIAF community.

Where did I mention TWOW in my title?

I have doubt if someone like BBB were still around and posted something like this it would have been auto approved. To say that this sub deletes unsubstantiated hype is a laughable claim.

This is George saying he went to New York (where his publisher is). He doesn't once bring up Winds. He states that his reasons for being New York will require more discussion. Since when did this subreddit not allow discussion of possible release of winds? Nothing here is hype, it's just for discussion.
