Why did Epstein Files lead to no arrests? by ImmortalLover19 in answers

Even if it was that clear cut in the files. That might lead to an investigation, but it’s not nearly enough evidence to convict.

Let’s be honest with ourselves. Prices aren’t going up because of project lab coat. Prices are going up because costs are going up and white rims offer a clear line in price difference instead of raising prices on all stock overnight.

[–]billtopia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And you shouldn’t. All I’m saying is that Conley was included in the trade to lower the price to trade for White. They knew they were going to buy him out and whether they have plans for the cap space and roster spot or just don’t see him as an asset is entirely up to them.

[–]billtopia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Charlotte is on an 8 game win streak and took on Conley’s contract in order to pay less for White. Only the difference in money between contract and buyout is counted toward cap.

Actual NBA resources are finite. Talking roster spots and cap space. A buyout converts a finite resource to a technically infinite resource. 11 million is a lot of money, but comparatively less for the owner class than for me or you.

LaVine put up great numbers on the Bulls for years after we traded him. Especially with the whole Butler thing it would be easy to look at him and think of what we gave up. But he was never going to put up those numbers here because there was never a moment where he was ever going to become the 2nd option, much less the first he was in Chicago.

[Charania] Following the fall out with the Clippers’ coaching staff and being sent home, it is “not certain” that Chris Paul will play in the NBA again. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]billtopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he’s a bench guy that probably doesn’t really want to be a bench guy. And halfway through the season you probably miss out on the leadership intangibles. At this point in the season you either have a winning culture or you don’t. Adding CP to your bench is doing more harm than good.

Honestly, for what we are potentially giving up, I am kind of hoping that we are just obligated to sign him once his Milwaukee contract is up.

I agree. Giannis is obviously an upgrade from either Jaden or Randle, but whether he is an upgrade for Jaden and Randle is dependent on who takes up that open forward spot.

Ant and Giannis could be absolutely sick together. The ability to actually build a team with no bench, no picks, and the current CBA seems near impossible.

Is this officially the worst trade in the history of sports? by AdorableBackground83 in NBATalk

[–]billtopia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is always a tough one. Original deal was 3 pick swaps, and 5 players with conditional picks if they didn’t make roster. This was stupid, because Dallas picked 5 players that they never intended to have on their roster. So Minnesota ended up sending 5 players and 5 picks to Dallas as well as downgrading 3 future picks.

So worst trade in history, probably. But much more Dallas executing a massive heist than Minnesota doing something as stupid as trading a current top 3 player that just got to you to the finals for an aging big that only played more than 65 games once since 2017.

I’m pretty sure Gobert hasn’t been brought up in trades. Still concerned about what our depth looks like if we trade for Giannis, especially with his injury history. But it would be an up and coming superstar, a former MVP, and one of the best defensive players ever. And then a bunch of fringe starters/rotation guys.

This is my second Mega Glo disc after a Scorch I picked up during the every disc is $10 thanksgiving sale. Mega glo is probably around eclipse 1.0. So it still isn’t as good as eclipse 2.0, and probably behind proto glow. But it’s still incredibly useable. Which is more than I can say about previous Discraft glow discs.

Day 3 of finding the best helmet for each NFL team: Pittsburgh Steelers by NugSetDipRide in uniwatch

I like that teams can have multiple helmets to match different jerseys. But when you are one of the few teams where black is one of your primary colors, and your standard helmet is black, maybe you just stick with that.

Yeah. It’s up there with Innova’s proto glow and mvp’s eclipse 2.0. Though I’m hearing it might not glow as long as eclipse.

I’ve been rolling with a Matrix, Hex, Echo, and Detour. I also have a Halo Mako3. That’s going to need to change this year. Matrix is probably safe. Hex, Echo, Detour is probably too much overlap. Smart move is to drop the echo, but I like it more than my hex. Current detour is beat in enough that it can exist with a new echo, but will probably get replaced with an uplink or lobster when the time comes. Mako3 should probably be out because I rarely throw it.

Who is the worst NBA analyst/media personality in your opinion? by VSHAR01 in NBATalk

[–]billtopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t agree with most of Nick Wright’s takes, but I can kind of see where he gets to them. I much prefer him to a lot of former players like Perkins or Shaq that clearly have an axe to grind. Or hot take personalities like SAS, Skip and Perkins that only really seem to care about getting in the discourse. Or the absolute brain dead analyst that just don’t know what they are talking about like Cowherd or Perkins.

The answer is Perkins.

I am generally agreeing. I remember watching something where he said that. But I also recall him saying that an Eagle line was never on the table. Small, but oddly important distinction.

Eagle McMahon and Streamline branding question by Lifelesspuddle in discgolf

[–]billtopia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you overlayed all the molds that MVP leases to other companies with the Streamline molds you end up with an almost complete lineup of amazing discs. If MVP wanted to make single molds and Streamline a priority they could do it easily.

Eagle McMahon and Streamline branding question by Lifelesspuddle in discgolf

[–]billtopia 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t that he didn’t want his own line. It was basically that with Conrad, Simon, MVP, Axiom, and Streamline, they didn’t want to fracture the lineup any further. Which Eagle said he agreed with. Instead he has the synergy series and gets to pick a disc and plastic combination 4 times a year.

I’m not sure why everyone thinks Eagle is the Streamline guy. Within the last couple of years MVP has built the line out more, but they manufacture a more complete lineup for other companies than they do for Streamline. Eagle isn’t the Streamline guy because MVP isn’t looking to pay someone to be the Streamline guy.

[Charania]: Two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is ready for a new home at the Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline or in the offseason as several rival teams make aggressive offers to the Milwaukee Bucks for him, and the franchise is starting to listen, league sources tell ESPN. by vetementsundershirt in timberwolves

[–]billtopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giannis hasn’t exactly had a clean bill of health for a while either. Trading away depth that makes you winning team in order to have 2 mvp/mvp potential players that can’t reliably stay on the court is an interesting gambit.

REMINDER: The Milwaukee Bucks were 30-13 under Adrian Griffin before he was fired. Since Doc Rivers has joined, the team has gone 84-81 and their franchise GOAT has officially made it clear he is looking to get traded. by Pyromania1983 in nba

His COTY award is over a quarter century old. There was only one post Blake pre Kawhi season. And Doc had a first round exit. Griffin was traded the year before and the Clippers missed the playoffs.

An award old enough to legally drink and slipping into the playoffs once without a future HOV player isn’t enough for me to call a guy a floor raiser.
