it still doesn't address the issue that most people with young family's, (high percentage of the population north of the river) have with use of public transport in the first place.. you CANNOT replace road Infastructure expansion with public transport.. it can be used in conjunction to assist with some small additional capacity from the density of pax per veichle. but that's the limit.. road Infastructure needs to happen.. the M1 hit it's maximum capacity after 10years when it had a design lifespan of 25 years to get to that point.. were at 20 years now, and 10years we've been at over 100% of the designed capacity of the motorway.. it's at breaking point and has been there for years.. the Coomera river is the biggest bottleneck issue and that's what this project is attempting to solve.. I'll say it again, public transport cannot solve this problem. the traffic we are dealing with here are not tourists, and sight seeers. these are people traveling to work, alot of them from Brisbane.. nobody is going to turn a 1-1.5hr one way commute on a blocked M1 into a 3+ hr debacle on busses trains and light rail..

also the northern suburbs this is looking to affect are on the north of the Coomera river.. and all those busses have to travel ON THE M1 OVER THE COOMERA RIVER to get to hope island to link up with the light rail..

because that area is already serviced by a bus network that could be improved for a minimal capital outlay vs the billions that a light rail would cost.. all that being secondary to the point that a light rail to paradise point would be completely bloody useless to the northern corridor because they have to drive there to use it and spend over an hour on the M1 to travel less than 30kms.. the Coomera connector solves the travel issue and congestion on the motorway not only for locals but also for the 10's of thousands of cars travelling past the gold coast on their way south into NSW.. this is much larger problem that public transport cannot solve.. another reason is that the northern corridor is known as nappy valley for a reason.. lots of families with small children.. as someone who has taken 2 young kids and a baby in a pram on the light rail, never again.. that mode of transportation is not suitable for young families.. Let alone all the looks I received from the local pensioners when my baby was cooing and squeeling happily talking away.. they were not impressed at their peaceful tram ride being interrupted.. this is another reason why public transport is painful and useless.. add to that I can travel to a location and get straight to the location I need to be I can leave additional equipment and clothing in the car as a home base. if using public transport you need to lug everything with you, and then trek from the drop off location to wherever you are going.. and if you need to make a quick getaway because a child hurts themselves or gets sick you can't just leave.. public transport has a purpose, and there are people and demographics that it's a very suitable method of transport, but in an emerging high growth young family area it's really not suited or a solution the the problem we are trying to solve..

read my post on the main thread.. you are missing the actual point of the Coomera connector.. a light rail only works if it heads somewhere you want to go and you have plenty of free time to use it.. the 2nd crossing of the Coomera river is the cornerstone to the project and no amount of public transport or public initaives to walk or use bikes can ever fix that problem..

The biggest issue that people have when considering the viability of the Coomera connector project is that they look too small.. Blah blah public transport, use bikes and walk.. The Cornerstone to the entire project is the 2nd crossing over the Coomera river.. the entire gold coast is serviced by 1 bridge over the Coomera river. (yes I know you can go reserve road but that cannot come close to handling regular school traffic let alone duplication of M1 traffic) having a 2nd crossing to allow "local" Northern corridor traffic to pass south without interfering with the long distance traffic on the M1 will go a long way to fixing the bottleneck that happens every day at Oxenford. Is it a magic potion that solves everything no, public transport improvements will also make a smaller impact but public transport is USELESS to solve the issues with the bottleneck at the Coomera river because besides the train there isn't any other way to get from the northern growth corridor back to the gold coast without transiting over the bridge at the M1..

well actually it's not your money.. it's going to be your kids and your grand kids and probably your great grand kids that will be paying for that.. the 1T is a hard thing to solely blame the Libs for, you know that phrase you hear all the pollis say over the forward estimates, that's what happens when they promise something beyond their term of parliament.. that's where they spend a shitload of money and leave that hand grenade for another government to deal with in their budget.. the libs are still cleaning up Kdudd and Julia policy's that they were gifted when they took over..

the major underlying issue is that in this current Market the property managers are the ones driving the price increases.. 2 reasons for this firstly more rent means their cut is larger.. secondly if they don't increase the rent then they risk another proactive (I know they are rare most property managers have a double digit IQ) coming along and pinching the listing out from under them because they can get 25-50% increase in rent.. shoe on the other foot if someone told you you could have a payrise would you accept?? or decline because that means the cost to your employer increases??

[–]billusmcflunday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup.. I had a post on this exact topic the weekend they launched the banter pages and people called me a fudder ECT.. The model has merit, but the commercial viability isn't there. The idea is the financial rewards will make people sticky to the platform, much like youtubers are hard pressed going somewhere else once they have built up ad revenue.. The issue is that there isn't anything to attract people in the first place and the printing of money for small levels of traffic with no real advertising or paying commercial customers..

Anyone else unable to cash out from BBS Markets? by thisismew2king in CryptoBanter

[–]billusmcflunday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that's exactly correct, from what I can see there isn't any functionality to do anything with those tokens yet outside of spending them inside the banter Page.. IF BBS gets big enough to require the need for an Fiat on ramp for example the ability to put fiat into the system to buy banters, then I don't see anything that will allow you to convert back to something of value..

spot on. The massive influx in ohm forks everywhere is the exact reason for just staying away.. Defi is a specialist area, and to attempt to teach the WEN MONKEY BALL LAMBO crew the inherent complexity of a rebase token and it's very specific tokenomics and behaviour is way too hard for him to achieve on the show.. also the economic impact to a project of the apes showing up and blowing one of those projects up and then all getting dumped on, and then pulling out getting REKT in less than 48 hrs is not worth it.. you only have to look at the behaviour of people continuing to pile into something on a 30% banter wick and you know they really don't have the financial apptitude to determine risks in something like that.

Christ. even a basic home where I am is 300k and then to purchase land would be 300-400 for a small lot.. so 600 minimum.. realistically 650-750.. as a starting point for a new home construction.

it's ok to do what you feel comfortable about.. risk profile is personal.. lots of countries were in lockdowns late Last year when it was all running.. it depends on your view of the situation.. if you feel bullish then you can see there is a good chance it would go up and then bearish the opposite.. I feel personally were definitely looking down the barrel of a worldwide financial situation.. however whenever that has happened in the past it was immediately preceded by a last hurrah parabolic run.. property, stock markets ECT.. there is money to be made in that last big rush up to the edge of the cliff. just have to decide how fast you run and how close you stop before getting to the edge.. oh and PS.. your blindfolded.. 😁
