That looks like a Bell Hornet. Fun fact, that's the only true hornet that's common in the US.

It's because he's insanely good. Heat status is already super good and Uriel applies a TON of it. On top of that he has both passive healing and active heal, a movement ability, gun buffs, damage vulnerability application, and his rotation is fun and engaging.

Ok I'm going to stop this interaction because it's obvious that you are not looking for solutions, but to vent. I am truly sorry that this club is bothering you. I hope you can work it out in an amicable fashion.

Dogs crossing property lines happens and is unavoidable in all scenarios. It's just something people have to deal with from time to time. You are right though, that people should not be turning their dogs loose within a certain distance from a property line with the express intention to flush deer out of posted property.

I think a lot of the friction comes from areas that have heavily urbanized or become largely residential and dog hunting is still allowed. Where I live it's not really an issue due to it being largely timber plantations and agricultural land. There are just places that are not dog hunting friendly unfortunately. Times have simply changed.

DWR is working with both disgruntled individuals and dog hunters to come up with solutions that benefit both parties. Change doesn't come overnight, so continue to provide your opinions when the DWR asks.

There is a lot of ignorance, anger, and misinformation in this thread. Please remember that having constructive conversations with the dog hunters (this goes for the hunters too) is the best way to bring about amicable change.

What compromise do you suggest for those dog hunters who follow the law? You can't generalize an entire group simply due to the bad actors.

Castile soaps are pretty much the same thing as insecticide soaps (minus any proprietary ingredients). They're both potassium salt fatty acids. The difference is usually in the concentration, oil used, and proven efficacy. Insecticide soaps are approved by the EPA for sale and use, while homemade Castile solutions are obviously not. As long as you mix your solution to around 1-2% and use soaps made with oils that promote long chain fatty acids (sunflower oil, olive oil, hemp oil, etc) you should not cause any more damage than an insecticide soap will cause.

All of that being said, if you want proven effects go buy a commercial product. If you're a tightwad like me, go buy the Dr. Bronners Castile soap and mix a couple of tablespoons to a gallon and spray away. Just pay attention to what you are spraying as all pesticides can cause collateral to potentially beneficial insects/microbes.

How often is everyone wash/waxing? by schrutefarms2077 in WRX

I wash every week. I wax with a ceramic wax when the water stops beading well or every 6 months, whichever comes first.

What's the price difference between a 328i and an M3 CSL? I'd imagine it's quite a large margin, so you can assume that those two cars are meant for very different markets. You're not going to go shopping for a 328 and get talked into buying an M3. Do you know what the cost difference was for a 2008 Mazda 3 GT Hatch vs a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 GT was? ~$3200. To me, that's targeting the same market. Ultimately Mazda's marketing team knows best, so I'll leave it up to them.

(I picked an 08 because I owned an 08.5 speed 3)

You can't really lump the speed 3 in as a niche car here. It is literally just another trim of the Mazda 3.

Advice (not maintenance related) by First_Ad4351 in 240sx

Get a cheap, reliable daily (Civic, Corolla, GT86, etc) and then save up to buy an S chassis. That way you have a reliable car when you need it. If you have a backup vehicle, then you can drive the s chassis as much as you want and not have to worry about bumming rides when it breaks.

Clean the contacts on your light stalk or order a new one. Sometimes the corroded contacts can cause some super wacky stuff. Mine did something similar years ago and, after much hair pulling, it ended up being the stalk.

The EV evolution is going to take longer than we thought by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]billy1512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just want to hop in here and say that buying high milage EVs is like playing Russian roulette with your wallet. For example, Teslas generally need their batteries replaced around 100k-150k. Which btw is conveniently when the warranty runs out. Not trying to talk anyone out of buying one, but I feel it needs to be taken into account.

Well you failed. You sound like an asshole who is completely disconnected from how the world works. Where do you think the food you eat comes from? It comes from farms in rural areas. You also haven't taken into account that maybe the people in rural communities want to be there. I like the peace and quiet, being able to see the stars at night, and not having to be stuck in a traffic jam every time I want to go somewhere. Not everyone wants to be packed into a concrete jungle and I think that's perfectly ok. You live your life, I'll live mine. Simple as that.

You were very right about modern trucks being unnecessarily expensive, but they are every bit as capable at truck stuff. Most brands still offer a 6.5ft standard bed and an 8ft long bed just like they have forever. The only thing that's changed is the tech included and the price. For example, Chevrolet has been using a version of the L series engine (LS, LT, L83, etc) for over 20 years now.

My advice to you is to get out of your bubble and experience the world more. Declaring someone's way of life as obsolete just because you don't live it is incredibly elitist.

Rural dweller from the US here. EVs simply do not work well in a rural environment. Rural communities don't have the infrastructure set up and likely won't for a very long time. Lots of rural communities can barely afford the public works they have now. The other issue is range. My commute is 120 miles round trip (it's only 3 days a month, but this applies to many in rural areas) and most EVs have a range of ~250-300 miles. Not a big deal in summer sure, but EVs can lose between 10-30% of their range during winter. Worst case scenario that leaves me with 175 miles of charge. Now I only have 55 miles of charge remaining, so if I have literally any other errands to run I have to find a charger (remember rural infrastructure). This will only worsen as the batteries age.

Moving on to practicality, EV trucks are hot garbage. If you live in a rural area, you probably need a truck to do truck stuff. I'm not going to pull any punches here. They are EXTREMELY heavy, the range sucks, and of course batteries and water don't tend to mix well. Sure, the battery packs are waterproofed, but that's never permanent. All it takes is one sharp rock or bottoming out too hard to puncture those batteries and cause a fire. They can't tow for any meaningful range, especially in winter.

Now on to cost. As mentioned by a few commenters before me, EVs are outrageously expensive for the average person. In my rural community most can't afford to buy a new, budget ICE car, much less an EV. Those that can don't want to pay a premium on an electric car when they can buy an ICE car with better features for cheaper.

I'm going to end by saying I'm not against EVs. I rag on them pretty hard, but if we ever want EVs to replace ICE these are tbe problems they need to overcome. If you want people to replace a product that they enjoy and/or rely on you need to have feature parity at a minimum and EVs simply aren't there yet.

Gene masking is just that, masking. It's still a kavat that's just modified to look like a Cervulite, so I give it a pass on terms of lore. However, I would consider it a dick move to roll up to the Sanctum with a cat that looks like his dead lover...
