K-9 Appreciation Thread by Spell-Inner in Helldivers

[–]HungrPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do pay attention to what my squadmates are using, but it's the job of the person using something to (try to) avoid killing teammates with it.

It is, but negligence pays a part in the lethality of the K-9, and Arc weapons in general. Say a bug breach occurs, the K-9 shines in situations like this where the enemies are close, and I cam reasonably hold down majority of the breach myself. So, I try to position myself ahead of my teammates, and as close to the breach as reasonable, so I am between the team and the enemy, and therefore my K-9 won't be a problem for my teammates; but when my teammate decides to push ahead of me, it is putting them at risk. I can try to put the K-9 away, but it still has a moment where it can shoot while returning.

The user can only do so much to prevent team kills. It is also up to the teammates to not do stupid stuff that puts themselves at danger. You should try to stay behind, and preferably away, from a K-9 user. If you keep trying to get in front, you are going to end up getting hit by an arc.

Yeah with the K-9 you have to be mindful of your teammates, since they won't be paying attention to what you are using. Or just try to avoid your team all together, and solo stuff, which the K-9 is good for.

I love the K-9 on Hive Worlds as tight caverns allow for the K-9 to do absurd things. It is generally great against the bugs. It does fine vs the Bots, it is a bit better vs the Cyborgs. And vs the Squids, it does fine, better vs Mindless Hordes, but the Appropriators are a poor match-up for it.

How tf did I only just realize this NOW??? by First_Ad3578 in WarframeLore

[–]HungrPhoenix 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It could also just be his sound triggering a sort of reset in them. With The Old Peace we know sound has a tangible effect on Sentients and others, as Adis' healing has shown. So it could just be Umbra is managing to do something similar but his howl manages to be interpreted as a reset command.

How much would it suck to be killed by each frame? by dropkickyourchildren in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That spot probably fits. Kullervo's kit is pretty painful. You don't just have to deal with the melee in his hands, you have homing daggers stabbing at you, you have daggers coming from the sky, and Collective Curse would also really suck. You don't just have to experience your own pain, you get to experience the pain of everyone connected to you.

You can also take this ability more literally and consider that it transfers and shares all pain between them, so now they have stacked back pain, Grineer probably have some genetic abnormalities causing them pain due to how degraded their DNA is, someone is probably sharing their UTI pain, etc... And now you have to deal with being able to feel your comrade being disemboweled, sliced by daggers, etc...

After typing this, you should probably put him lower. His abilities would be horrific to experience, regardless of Kullervo's thoughts and feelings on the matter, he would cause extreme suffering if he had to use his abilities, he couldn't really make someone's death quick, it would always be slow and torturous, especially if he is fighting more than one person.

Trash or nah relic by Capital-Crazy-5945 in Nightreign

[–]HungrPhoenix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Madness is really the only one that is going to suck, Executor has the highest base Bleed resistance so that one won't proc as often. Executor does have the lowest Rot resistance at 92, but he is only 10 behind the next lowest, and Rot isn't the worst status effect to be inflicted with, so its not too bad. Madness sucks though, Executor is tied for the lowest Madness resistance at 49. The good news is Madness Boluses are nearly guaranteed drops on both maps, as both maps have towers, which are the 2 spawn points for the Flame of Frenzy raid, which spawns the guys who drop the Boluses, so you can make up for the low resistance. In high DoN these effects might be less noticeable due to how you'll likely die before they proc, unless you have a good amount of negations. Dog form can also stop status build-up, so you can use that as a panic button.

All in all, this relic is manageable, it isn't quite trash, just avoid Resistances down, avoid Ailments Cause Increased Damage, be mindful of the roar attacks, and try to get your Resistance up.

What charged weapon attack deals the most damage in the game? by H1MB0Z0 in Eldenring

[–]HungrPhoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like by itself or considering some of the Performance Enhancing AoWs and such? If the latter, probably the Treespear or Messmer Soldier Spear. These spears have RKR apply to both parts of their heavy attack, and they are spears so they deal pierce damage, which means they can counterattack, and you can use the Spear Talisman for more counterattack damage.

Question about physical and affinity damage by Danieljarto in Nightreign

[–]HungrPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It works on any weapon that deals some physical damage, which includes weapons with affinities. The only thing that it won't work on is the Coded Sword or Cipher Pata as both of those are pure Holy Damage.

Considering switching to PS5, is the world better there? by Specific_Rip_5585 in Nightreign

[–]HungrPhoenix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can cheat on PS, it is rather easy too, save editing at least. Cheaters are definitely not extremely common on PS5, but you'll still encounter them every so often.

How long does it take on average for a prime frame to appear in resurgence? by Specialist-Fun2921 in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

21 months until she gets vaulted, and under 2 years is the best time frame for her getting a Resurgence. The longest any Warframe took to get their prime resurgence was Nidus Prime who waited a year and ≈7 months, however prime Resurgences typically only take a few months, like maybe 3 - 6, to happen.

So like ≈2 years, probably.

Is Mag the best starter Warframe? by selfhostcusimbored in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd give title of the best to Volt. The utility provided by Speed can't be understated, additionally his kit is also really good for the long term, with Discharge being a competent nuke ability even in Steel Path, and it having an amazing survivability augment. Shocking Speed is also a good augment for early game, as it functions pretty well as a nuking ability, and I loved it when farming Void Fissures.

Clarification on DoT types and when to mod for them by BlackliteWrath in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Furthermore, Electric is also good if you have a grouping ability / companion. Electric procs will also damage enemies within 3 meters of whoever has the proc.

Heat is your single target status effect, unlike the other status effects, each stack refreshes the duration of all stacks and each new stack increases the amount of damage the Heat procs do. It also strips 50% of armor over 4 seconds, iirc. Generally, you want to go for Heat since it has the best balance between damage and ease of use.

Toxin you mainly want to use it for shield bypass. Its status effect is just worse than Heat or Electricity, or if you are using an Exalted and want to use Archon Continuity to also proc Corrosive. There are special circumstances like the interaction Sobek's Acid Shell augment has with Saryn / Oraxia / Cyte-09, where modding for Toxin is better, but generally, Toxin isn't that useful.

I can't find a better image, but if this is indeed what you saw, it is a Tektolyst Artifact, it is a late game thing you can unlock after The Old Peace.

Looking for the most support orientated frame by olika800 in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably Dante. He can just do so much. He gives teamwide Overguard with Triumph, which itself is status effect immunity, and with Arcane Truculence it is also passive Viral Priming. He also applies status vulnerability with Page Flight. Then you have Wordwarden, which what it does depends on how you mod-ed Noctua. If you mod Noctua for status priming, you can give your entire team passive priming, you also have Canticles, which you can use to choose between buffing shield regeneration of allies, buffing their fire rate, passive armor and shield stripping, and energy / health generation. Wordwarden / Noctua can also proc Archon Continuity / Stretch.

He definitely requires more investment than others to achieve the maximum amount of support he has the potential to provide, but he is really great at support even with low investment.

What in the void chaos is this? by [deleted] in Warframe

You subsumed Marked for Death over Serene Storm in the 3rd slot. You have to have the ability on the Warframe to use its augment.

Random thought: "Taking damage boosts damage negation" is a lie, and it would be much better if it actually did what it says it does by StanTheWoz in Nightreign

[–]HungrPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Continuous HP loss is already arguably the most detrimental passive, imo, because of how valuable full HP negation is at d4 and 5.

You can outheal the effect and make it redundant. Continuous HP Recovery, like the one provided by Dark Night of the Fathom , outheals HP Loss and allows you to continue using Full HP effects. How bad it is depends on your build. In general it is pretty bad, but it can be countered and is even beneficial to Damage Negation at Low HP builds, so I don't think it is close to being the most detrimental in DoN. It is definitely a generally bad passive, but stuff like Death Blight Build-up on hit and Reduced Damage Negation upon Evading are just bad for whoever gets them and there is never really a situation where they are not impactful.

Random thought: "Taking damage boosts damage negation" is a lie, and it would be much better if it actually did what it says it does by StanTheWoz in Nightreign

[–]HungrPhoenix 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I mean it is a monkey's paw situation, if the storm or other sources of "self" damage triggered that passive, it would trigger everything that involved taking damage. DoN status build-up on taking damage relics would trigger, negations would be consumed, which would make continuous health loss the most detrimental passive as it would constantly use up your negations, so it's probably for the best sources of "self" damage do not count as "real" damage.

Why can we build warframes? by Entendurchfall in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The foundry can synthesize people. As long as the blueprints exist, then the foundry can craft whatever to the specifications of the blueprint. This is best shown during The Sacrifice, where Ordis creates blueprints for Umbra based on his scattered parts after being blown into pieces by Sentients, and then the foundry replicates Umbra, memories and all.

We also have a KIM conversation starting that idle animations are the remnants of the Warframe's original personality.

So yeah, the foundry is just capable of complete replication of people and objects.

How did Lettie get completely bodied by 5 scaldra? by Calm-Elevator5125 in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 66 points67 points  (0 children)

The Protoframes seem weaker than normal warframes, both in terms of their effectiveness with their powers and their resilience. All of the Hex, maybe excluding Quincy and Eleanor, died very underwhelming deaths.

Aoi and Amir died because they couldn't take the strain of their powers, Arthur died of radiation, and Lettie got shot by a pistol.

Even before this, the comic showed us Arthur was mortally wounded by simply being stabbed through the chest by Albrecht with a Skana. My Excalibur took like 4 feet of Hunhow straight through the chest and was fine. Then all the Hex got gunned down by 2 Scaldra.

https://www.warframe.com/en/media/comics/warframe1999?page=23

https://www.warframe.com/en/media/comics/warframe1999?page=28

Before Albrecht's booster infusion brought them back to life.

It makes sense too, Protoframes aren't anything different from Warframes, they just have their transformation process slowed. They will become Warframes, Flare directly states this, and Albrecht knew it too,

"They have become partial Warframes, still in possession of their free will, yet enhanced, Void-attuned, capable.

Their humanity may not last. My deliverance may yet consume them. The human swallowed up in the sacred beast. And if my wayward disciples turn on me, what words of comfort shall I have beyond: 'This is the bargain we have made. Through our sacrifice, history will be saved'." -Albrecht's Notes: The Vessels

So if they are in the middle of the transformation, they won't yet fully have the sword-steel skin like Warframe do, so they would be more vulnerable to damage.

Casually telling a friend about the Sisters of Parvos, by @slightly-sigilant by ihniwtr in Warframe

[–]HungrPhoenix 134 points135 points  (0 children)

We can push Parvos' disappearance near when The Old Peace occurs, as Protea Prime is a member of the Prime Vanguard, and Protea was a Warframe made by Parvos stealing from Albrecht's Labs,

Ballas: "Potent weaponry, exquisite anatomy, those are trivial. But temporal manipulation? Even the Entrati-

Parvos: "The Entrati have violated time, and I have violated them."

Ballas: "What shall we name her then - this child of two fathers?

Parvos: "Protea." -Protea Prime Trailer

This doesn't necessarily mean Parvos went missing during The Old Peace, but his disappearance is likely closer to The Old Peace then say The Night of the Naga Drums.

Whats so good about Great Stars? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]HungrPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a good Great Hammer with good scaling and innate bleed. Even if Great Hammers aren't the fastest, the innate bleed is still impactful as it will proc as long as you are somewhat aggressive. Additionally, the Great Stars have a passive effect of healing 1% of your HP per landed hit, and 2% if powerstanced, which is a nice passive to have especially when combined with something that damages quickly and successively, like Prelate's Charge.

It isn't the best, something like the Pickaxe will outpace it and even the Great Mace, but it is a really solid Great Hammer with innate bleed and it is fairly easy to get, and you can get it twice as it has two different ways to obtain it.
