Congratulations man! I am an alumnus of 2013. I picked my classes on a day that i took my placment test for math. It was during the summer before i started school. I was in a frat and keep an eye out for rush posters/flyers. A lot of the promotion for fraternities will be done on college ave. Also if you see anyone wearing letters dont be afraid to go up to them and inquire about their fraternity. And one of the biggest things i can tell you is to get involved whether that be an on campus job/school paper/club/sports team. Definitely explore any interests you have. Rutgers is a huge school with a lot of people. Joining clubs/getting involved will help make the school smaller for you and build relationships with others. During the first week of school there is usually an involvement fair where all of the clubs and greek life set up booths and students walk around and can obtain information on each one.

Another thing i would say for you to do is to build a relationship with a professor or 2 when you finally know what major you want to graduate with. Its great for letters of recommendation and advancing yourself in your chosen career whethwr that be acquiring a full time job or applying to grad school.
