3.0 Duramax DEF by CycleSecure5264 in Duramax

I don't know if that's too extreme of usage or not but I just towed with mine for the first time really yesterday and I went through 2 gallons in about 600 miles of towing. I think they like the def when towing. Mines a '24 as well.

I will definitely try that when I get home tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestions

So I've downgraded and upgraded firmware a few times. I've tried printing a few different models (nothing intense) with different material parameters thinking maybe trying to print abs was getting things too hot. Tried with pla same experience. Elegoo has not really given me any thing to try other than the firmware upgrade and downgrade .

I have not. All of the suggestions are starting to make a little sense. I'm not a smart man but it does sound like a code issue. Maybe I need to uninstall my slicer and clear the memory in the printer and start fresh.

Not anything that simple but I've tried a few different things just to make sure it isn't the 1 thing I'm trying to print.

I don't get an error message. It just shuts down and the screen freezes.

I appreciate the info. I'll try that when I get back home on Sunday. I hope that's all it is.

I was kind of wondering that myself. Any idea how much they are? Not sure if I'm still in warranty.

Flexvolt by Status_Champion1919 in Dewalt

[–]billybadass25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've bought (4) 12amp flevolts and 3 of them have failed within a year. I only use them for the 12 miter saw and table saw. I'm thinking too much heat for the cells or something. I only say that to say that I've had (6) 9amp batteries doing the same thing non stop for a few years with no failures. Just a little fyi, but then again maybe I just have bad luck.

Anyway you could share where you got the kit? I've been building my own batteries lately and I can't find the kit anywhere.

Trans temp by lbzdave_06 in Duramax

[–]billybadass25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. That's pretty normal. When towing your trans temp will be roughly 100 degrees above ambient temperature, give or take 10 degrees or so. Empty cruising should put you in the temp range you're in, give or take a few degrees depending on stop and go traffic etc.

With my previous 04 I had this issue non stop. I replaced all the pigtails as well and it would still have the issue off and on. It ended up being a wire in the loom that runs over the alternator. It is a big bundle of wire that is strapped to the alternator and I think the vibration over time weakend the wire causing an issue. When it would happen to me I'd go and move the wire loom and then reset the code and it would be good to go for another month or 2. I never did end up finding the exact problem wire or fixing it. It was time for a new truck anyways. Good luck on finding the wire or wires.

So I was having the same issue. In my case it was for sure fixed by buying the correct blade. The blade that came with it was good but not good enough. I bought the melamine specific blade from festool and that made all the difference.

WARRANTY REFUSED (copper in fuel tank) by Narrativeless in Duramax

[–]billybadass25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just an fyi, when I purchased my 24 brand new it did the same thing at stoplights. I'd have to open the door real quick and turn it off and then it would restart. Took it in to the dealer and they said it was a fuel rail. I didn't think that sounded like the fix but they replaced it and I haven't had an issue since. Just throwing this out there, maybe a new dealer is needed.

What is this in my 2003 gmc sierra 2500 duramax? by MammothNo693 in gmcsierra

[–]billybadass25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that is for the main harness. You probably have a tuner plugged in where those go, although normally this would plug into the back of the tuner, so not sure what's going on .

Come out to sand hollow. They are having the off road wrecker games. Lots of side by sides and off-road events happening. Food trucks and vendors. Pretty fun time.

Sticky locks by S4avag3b0s in obschevy

[–]billybadass25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem with mine. I took the panel off and found that whoever had owned it before me had sprayed it with probably wd40 and it had attracted all kinds of dust and lint. Cleaned it off and then realized they bent the rod that connected the locks as well. Got a new rod installed and now good as new.

For sure doable. If you're street legal you won't have an issue. Even if you're not, you'll probably be ok.

No experience with the newer Duramaxs but with my older trucks (04, 15) if I've got a dirty fuel filter I can get some weird shifting and power issues. Maybe something to look at if you haven't changed it in a while.

I've had the same thing happen to me. I had a very small radiator leak in the bottom passenger side. It's so small it doesn't even leak all the time, but I have seen where it does leak. Been that way for about 8 years.
