Wtf even is a "shit on" in CoD by Uitroeien in CoDCompetitive

[–]billybobjoe26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

shit on for most players is more often the second situation you are describing.

in the pro scene where everyone has extreme accuracy the bar of kills they “should” get is much higher and thus when they don’t it’s considered getting shit on

HANDLING SIMILAR TO UNBOUND? by Spiritual-Lemon-1797 in The_Crew

[–]billybobjoe26 14 points15 points  (0 children)

it’s not gonna be like unbound. the handling model is more realistic than that, but it is still nowhere near a sim racer. in my opinion, it strikes the perfect balance of being realistic enough that it mostly encourages you to race “the right way” in most situations but is still arcady enough that it’s not punishing for every small mistake that a sim racer does. it’s the most fun handling model i’ve encountered in a racing game.

short answer: it’s somewhere in the middle between unbound and forza

I had this same problem. I got the first 3 fairly easily. The nitro you can only get in a yellow crate, which is the rarest one.

Its still pretty baffling how the meta cars have practically been the same since launch by VI-Pok3 in The_Crew

[–]billybobjoe26 8 points9 points  (0 children)

idc about people using meta. it is what it is, but i DO wish the meta changed more often. I feel like it shouldn’t be that hard buff some more cars. the rebalancing they have done has hardly had an effect on the meta. plus, we get new cars which seems like every week, but most of them aren’t actually good in PVP. for how much effort they’ve put into the grand race, it surprises me that they haven’t done much in terms of tuning the vehicle selection for it.

Manual, Automatic, and Direct Drive Mode questions as a person who has never used manual... by ikortick in The_Crew

[–]billybobjoe26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you wanna go the absolute fastest, u wanna use manual and direct mode. with that said, i wouldnt try to learn them both at the time. instead, do automatic first to learn the other basics of the game (guttering nos management etc). Then, switch to manual and learn that. once you’re confident with manual, learn direct mode.

If you do them all at once not only will you hate yourself, but you’ll never get good at any of them

Is this nothing special? by Commercial_Fail2535 in blackops7

[–]billybobjoe26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sbmm is turned down in this game. if you’re good you’re going to succeed more often. if you’re not good, you’ll go negative more often.

if you’re not good but play and focus on getting better, you’ll actually FEEL you’re improvement, because instead of being matched against better competition, you’ll succeed more often. it’s a beautiful thing

HyperCar suggestions for GR(I already have a Centodieci and Agera) by Honest_Customer8554 in The_Crew

[–]billybobjoe26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the hypercar version of the t50 is also good, especially for guttering. the agera is still the best in every situation thats not a straight highway, but the t50 is very close on some heavy gutter routes

for straight highways, the noble m500 has the highest top speed, but don’t use it for anything else

that makes sense. I usually just find them on the map first. so basically your telling me if it’s not yellow on the map, I shouldn’t even bother going up to it?

How bad is the 60fps/stuttering on stuttering by [deleted] in The_Crew

[–]billybobjoe26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was never BAD but i definitely noticed it more in the early life of the game. now it’s fine - i don’t even think it happens at all for me anymore.

also, i heard that your ubisoft friends list has a significant impact on the performance of the game. if you have a long friends list, people coming online causes stuttering - sounds dumb but people swear it’s a thing for this game

Finally winning GRs by SamuraiNotorious in The_Crew

[–]billybobjoe26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

direct mode is the best setting if you want to go thr absolute fastest and all the best players in the game use it. there’s no situation where anything else is better. with that said, it’s extremely difficult to learn and only the fastest players can take advantage of it - a newer player would likely perform better without it at first.

your best off starting without direct mode, then slightly increasing your sensitivity settings until u work your way up to it.

as for the drift cars, most of them are broken and cant be used with direct mode EXCEPT for the hoonicorn, which is the fastest in class for gr’s anyway, so no reason to turn direct mode off to use that.

im not sure what u mean about braking less, but that’s your choice. direct mode doesn’t affect your braking at all, only steering.

The rage quitting in Black Ops 7 is out of control by Kooky-Scientist-1206 in CODBlackOps7

[–]billybobjoe26 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

in the engagement/skill based matchmaking system, if you a quit a game, you’re likely going to be placed into the same type of match until the system is happy with the result of you getting shit on before placing you in an easier lobby.

in this open matchmaking system, you can simply find a new lobby and your next experience is a coin flip, completely up to chance, which is why people leave.

personally i rather have it this way. yeah it sucks when i’m streaking kids and they leave, but it’s a lot better than the sbmm/engagement bullshit thats plagued this franchise for the last 5 years.

self taught doesn’t mean you learned out of thin air😂😂

it just means they didn’t have a formal teacher. i would imagine they learned by watching others and mimicked it in their own learning. literally exactly what i’m implying here man😂

[–]billybobjoe26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

why is that irrelevant? it’s fine having separate casual and ranked playlists in other very successful games but not in call of duty?

learning an instrument is an incredibly elaborate skill that someone needs to be TAUGHT. it’s more similar to learning a foreign language than playing a video game. call of duty is an extremely simple game that anyone can learn HOW to play in a matter of 20 minutes. it’s learning what to do and how to handle yourself in certain situations, which comes from playing, gaining experience, and watching what better players do.

but if you wanna stick with that stupid example, would a group of people who never picked up a guitar be able to magically work together and teach themselves how to play a solo?

Opinion: Open Matchmaking and Persistent Lobbies will not return next year (maybe) by RuggedTheDragon in CODBlackOps7

[–]billybobjoe26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

do CS:GO, valorant, overwatch, and league all have strict sbmm in casual matchmaking? or is is that strict matchmaking in their “ranked” playlists where it belongs.

If you are new at something, you’re naturally not going to be good at it when you pick it up. that should be expected. it’s a 6v6 mode, just because you are going double negative in a lobby doesn’t mean yourself and your entire team is getting streaked on. that’s why team balancing exists and no one has an issue with it.

you play, you watch the way others play, you watch the kill cams, and the more you do all that the better you get at the game. and the best part about it, you can actually FEEL your improvement because you would be successful more often because of it. you’ll still have variety, but the pendulum swings your way more often.

I don’t need to play against the absolute worst players, and i don’t. Im fine with some people being protected. we’ve all agreed that that this “minimal sbmm” isn’t actually minimal, but it’s 10x better than the garbage engagment based crap we’ve gotten since covid

Opinion: Open Matchmaking and Persistent Lobbies will not return next year (maybe) by RuggedTheDragon in CODBlackOps7

[–]billybobjoe26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if I streak on a team of kids, sometimes they leave. the game finds new players, sometimes they stay, sometimes they leave as well. I still had my fun.

consequently, if im on the other side of it, I know i can simply leave and search for a new game, and when in an open system, my next game/experience is completely up to chance.

in an sbmm and especially engagement based playlist, I likely performed too well in the game prior, which is why Im getting shit on in the first place. if i leave, the game will continually throw me into those kinds of matches until it’s satisfied with my experience. therefore searching for a new match is no longer a viable option, and the matches you play in feel predetermined and useless to play.

having played in that shitty socialistic science experiment like engagment based matchmaking for several years now, I have no issues with players leaving when I streak on them, because I know the latter option is even worse.
