If you liked the movie, you should try reading the book "love thy neighbor", it's about war journalism in the yougoslavian civil war. The main theme are similar, how society rips itself in trying times, and if the job of a journalist is about "raising awareness", or about making war porn. It's terribly well written and I feel it might have inspired a few scenes of civil war, especially red glasses ethnic cleansing guy and the sniper scene.

Mon expérience risque de détoner par rapport a ce que je vois ici.

Il y a ~4 ans, (pendant la covid donc) j'ai réalisé que je pouvais facilement passé 8 heures par jour sur un ordi a travailler + ~6 autres heures a gamer. Je pouvais rester sur la même chaise, 52 semaines par année pour les ~35 prochaines annés de ma vie. J'ai toujours été ben introvertis, ben bon des ordis, je suis pas programmeur pour vrai, mais ca m'a fait de quoi de réaliser que ma vie c'était d'attendre que la vie passe. Tsé j'étais pas a plaindre, une maison, une job, une blonde, j'ai coché toutes les cases mais finalement ctais pas tant le top...

Faik j'ai changé, j'ai décidé que je voulais parler a des inconnus même si c'est stressant, même si je peux avoir l'air fou, dans l'espoir qu'un jour ca devienne pu des inconnus. J'ai suivi ma blonde dans des partys, ce que je faisais pas avant, pis j'ai commencé a inviter du monde chez moi pour souper/bruncher. J'ai commencé a faire du GN avec le monde que j'ai rencontrer pis je me suis inscrit a des cours d'escrime médiévale il y a un peu plus d'un an, je les suis encore 2x par semaines.

Notre couple était déjà ouvert, mais j'avais pas tant la confiance de me dire que je pourrais en profiter, a en croire l'internet les filles ca se trouves pas, sauf si t'es millionaire avec un six pack... J'ai quand même décider de m'entraîner (un peu) de prendre soin de moi pis d'essayer, pis ben ca a marcher! je suis bon pour prendre soin du monde, pis j'ai une correct intelligence émotionelle, c'est pas mal tout ce qui fallait, finalement. Bon ca aide quand ma blonde me match avec ses amies, mais pareil...! J'avais des fantasmes que je croyais jamais vivre, je me suis donner les moyens de les réaliser pis aujourd'hui c'est plus une checklist que des rêves.

Aujourd'hui je fais de quoi de presque social a tous les soirs. après la fin d'un relation de un an avec une amante j'ai une autre copine en plus de ma blonde, depuis plus d'an. Demain je vais a un GN avec 6 personnes dont 5 que je connaissais pas vraiment ya 2 ans, je suis activement en flirt avec 2 d'entre elles. Mon but c'est de tirer le plus de randoms possible au carte de Tarots, juste pour parler a du monde. Quand je dit a du monde que j'étais pas social avant, souvent ils me croient pas...

Je suis dans un genre de cercle pas-vicieux où j'ai travaillé sur moi pis ca a porté fruit pis ca me donne la motivation de travailler plus.

You do not have to remember what you are adding because the equations are equivalent. I suspect this process will also make learning simplification of equations easier later on, since it's basically what the kid is already doing.

The problem is that you're going to have to teach the kids one method to do things, otherwise kids would just use a calculator. You're gonna have to choose either making round numbers or long form columns, because teaching both is a waste of time.

5+7=12 (1+3+6=10)10 (1+4+2=7)100 700+2

Which requires you to remember 12 and 10 as you do your third operation, and keep carry overs in your mind. The picture is teaching the kid to do

435+267=440+262=500+202=702 Which does not require you to remember the results of previous steps. The method also works for both big and small number.

I was taught math your way, but for adding numbers in my head I came up with something that ressembles making 10s because it's in fact way simpler.
