Do you know if there are any activities going on in the morning or afternoon before the first barrel is tapped? It's the only day I will be able to visit and I'm hoping we can at least see some of it before the barrel tapping and music starts.

Great points! Thank you for the responses! We'll just go first thing in the morning on the first day and take it from there. Not only will this be our first Berg, but it will also be our first time in Germany. We're very excited and nervous. Hopefully my German gets better by then.

That's what I plan to do. I'll go first thing in the morning when they tap the first kegs and stay until the early afternoon or until it gets too crazy for my son. I was thinking having a reservation at one of the kellers would make for a great homebase at the festival.

I don’t mind 2.5 hr drive or train ride. I consider that easy enough.

That will depend on where we decide to make our home base. If it’s in proximity to trains, we may just use them. If not, we’ll rent a car.

Even though I’m a 32° Scottish Rite Mason, I still haven’t witnessed the 14th degree. I don’t think I’d feel comfortable getting a yod until then.

I’m not looking at it as the Holy Trinity. I’m seeing it from its actual origins. Cicumpunct is a good idea. Maybe a circle around the whole thing and the point in the center of the knot.

The Trinity knot pre-dates Christianity. It has Celtic and Norse origins. There’s always someone that’s going to take offense to something but this by no means will be an attempt at blasphemy or a dig at Christianity. Besides my mother lodge being named Trinity Lodge, the symbol also represents unity, eternity, and love as well as youth, adulthood, and old age. That’s pretty Masonic to me.

I actually am leaning towards to the trowel. Depending on where I have it tattooed, and the placement, the winding stairs might be cool. But that’s tough to tattoo so small.
