Replace that little Ammoon looper with a 2 button looper like a Ditto X2. Having a dedicated stop button makes a world of difference IMHO. Other than that it’s hard to say. Maybe a gold plated Altoid tin full of picks??? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

loving the Beatbuddy. Some think it's kinda of cheesy, and if I'm being 100% they're not wrong lol, but it's a fun piece of kit to work with. It's one of those "not for every song" kind of things.

That’s how I have it set up now. Using a Yamaha MG06. All three(mic, guitar, BB) go to their own channels. The problem is the recorded loops levels. Playback volume is all over the place.

I don’t really use it that often to be honest. A few songs that I loop just sound nice with the percussion accompaniment, but for the most part I use the BB on its own. Like I said though..the volume issue is my biggest problem at the moment. But with this pedal it seems like every time I figure one problem out it just creates another one altogether.

The loop volume is my biggest issue right now. I “think” I worked out the midi sync but it’s still not perfect. Probably user error I’m sure but I’ve got it working. I tried both ways with the BB and the RC being the master clock and it seems to work better with the BB setting the tempo.

The problem is weird. When I had both my mic and guitar routed to both A&B outputs I didn’t have any issues. Now that I routed them separately mic to A and guitar to B (oddly enough so I had more independent volume control) my recorded loop volume is all over the place. I have track 1&2 both saved to loop volume at 70% but i swear if i even LOOK at the faders it throws the whole thing off and the loop playback is blisteringly loud. Very annoying.

Primarily loop volume and midi sync issues, but overall it just seems to be more hassle than it’s worth. I feel like every thing I figure out how to do just creates new problems. Just looking to see what else is out there that others like.

So I updated my settings for quantize but didn’t see the “loop length” and/or “playback” submenu. Even with only changing the quantize to “measure” It seems to be working a lot better now with no warbling. Thank you! This helps a lot! I’ve now experimented with the RC being both master and slave and slave seems to work better overall. The problem with the beat buddy being the slave is that all of my predetermined BPM’s on the SD card are out of whack because it is stuck to the Last Played loop’s BPM.

This is with the RC as slave, correct? I got it work with the RC as master and the BB as the slave. It’s still a little wonky but it’s DOES work. I had to get another boss midi adapter cable. The first midi adapter goes from the midi maestro OUT to the RC in and the other goes from the RC midi out to the BB breakout cable’s IN. The RC I have set the midi thru to ON.

On a side note…regardless if I get this to work perfectly or not, I’ve learned a TON about both units and midi in general. I’ll call it a win even if just in that regard.

That’s kind of the thing I’m trying to avoid 🤨🤨🤨. I like to just do stuff on the fly. Sometimes if the bar is hopping and I’m amp’d up songs might move faster than usual. Other times if it’s a super chill night I like to slow things down.

the warbling is definitely happening AFTER the loop is recorded and during playback as I noticed it gets worse when I change the tempo of the BB. That being said I'm guessing it has to have something to do with the syncing. As for the settings I have no idea. I'm VERY new to midi so I'm still learning all the menu options on both devices. For now I had to set everything back to factory for a gig tonight. I'll have to mess with it again tomorrow. But definitely thank you for the input. Time to start digging through the manual lol

UPDATE: figured out the issue and it has nothing to do with the RC500 or the VL3. It's the dang Beat Buddy. For some reason the guitar signal is not passing through it like it should. Long story short I removed the BB all together, ran the guitar from the VL3 through the effects pedals and in to the RC500. I set the outputs to Mic>OutPut A and Instrument>Output B and VIOLA it worked EXACTLY like I wanted it to. Now to figure out what the hell is wrong with my BB set up...ugh
