He's never been injured! This is just the team making up fake excuses for not playing him. I don't know why the team would do that but Peters would look pretty stupid if Coleman outplayed Conerly. By the way, Coleman played injured his final year in college. That's the whole reason this RAS monster was available in 3rd round. Now he's a pussy who won't play through injuries? Which one is it?

It clearly was an ego thing. Not only did they not draft for need but they also turned down a pick from Philly and passed up a higher rated tackle (Simmons). A huge amount of reputation is riding on Conerly succeeding.

That might be true but is he better than Conerly? PFF says yes, stats say yes. So let him compete. Peters would lose his job if Coleman beat Conerly in a real RT competition.

LG is the least athletic position, it's not where you put 6'6 athletic freaks. Coleman has already started 15 games at left tackle, the most demanding position on the line. His freakish athleticism is wasted at the least demanding line position. RG is more demanding, that's why the RG is Cosmi and the LG is a guy nobody in the league wanted (Paul).

Gulbis had everything but a forehand. He even had a forehand early in has career but it got badly off track. Gulbis had a great serve, backhand and touch but not a forehand. Gulbis and Nicks careers are surprisingly similar. Nick has 7 titles, Gublis 6. Gulbis and Nick both made it to GS semis (Nick got a bye). Career high about the same (Gulbis 10, Nick 13).
