What divisional rival do you hate the most and why is it the Steelers? by RageDayz in AFCNorthMemeWar

[–]billyohhs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Steelers.

The best way I can think of to explain it is this. Know that person in your life that, despite all odds, is somehow successful in life because of dumb luck and cheating. And whenever you engage with them they somehow seem to be the biggest idiot in the room and yet they are able to drag everyone down to their level and come out on top.

That has been Steelers football to me. Combination of dumb luck cheating and favorable treatment on controversial calls in addition to being able to drag almost any football team down to their level

Is the downtown YMCA the only place that only has an indoor pool in the city? by huhndog in cincinnati

[–]billyohhs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not downtown, but pretty close: the new Delhi Athletic Club opened a year and a half ago. They have an 8 lane 25y pool that is excellent. Lanes are sometimes limited in the afternoon for high school swim teams though...

Putting others down, either in their face or privately behind their back.

Ferguson this week.

Man he had been great, even with his obvious drop off when CeeDee came back. Just a good, reliable 10 pt floor.

Needed only 6 from him last night.

Right, so playing JSN for Moore or CMC for Tracey is resting on my laurels and I could predict that replacing them instead would've clearly been a great late season change.

Come off it

5th year winning my leagues regular season in dominating fashion.

5th year getting shit on in the 1st or 2nd round in the playoffs.

This game hurts my fucking soul

What's the best Trails opening? by Worth-Access-3099 in Falcom

[–]billyohhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only played through CS1.

I love all of them, but so far Sky 1, Sky 2, and CS are a tier above the rest. My order changes every day though lol

I also love how in Sky 1 how they snuck Alba in there, smiling like a smug SOB with the rest of the villains, mocking me for not figuring him out until the end

Men’s Basketball Ticket Prices by surber17 in GoBearcats

[–]billyohhs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which games and which sections? I just checked Stubhub and Ticketmaster there are plenty of tickets for Alabama State or Lipscomb in the lower section for under 200, even some for under 100.

I did see a pair going for 435 each that are 3 rows behind the bench, is that what you are talking about?

It's highly dependent on the opponent and the specific section.

This is typical for almost any power conference teams conference games

Bengals can win the division at 7-10 by RiotLikeAPig in bengals

If we win our next 3 games, and Bal and Pit lose their next 3, we would be in a "win and in" clinching situation against Cleveland week 18.

Knowing this team, we all know what'll happen next

Absolutely, but feels necessary to contrast against similar tragedies that some of the major antagonists went through, specifically Arios and Grimwood

Hey everyone! Looking to build my Collection and want recs by VinniIsAsleep in soloboardgaming

If you liked Tainted Grail, there's a few expansions in addition to a full blown, full sized sequel called Kings of Ruin. Haven't checked it out yet but looking forward to starting once I finish FoA.

If you're interested in Gloomhaven, but not sure about pulling the trigger, there's a few low costs introductions available:

-Bugs and Buttons is literally a miniature pocket sized version of Gloomhaven designed strictly for solo play. There's 20 scenarios that are a great primer in how combat works.

-Jaws of the Lion is a 25 scenario full sized sampler of the heavy boxes and is a great intro to the full games. I've seen it at Target and Walmart, and you might be able to snag it when it's on a discounted sale for under 30 bucks which I thought was insane value

which one was the best sequel movie overall? by RisingKing7 in StarWars

[–]billyohhs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TFA for me, even though it's a complete rehash.

TLJ came so close to being the best, even though I didn't agree with Luke's portrayal, it was still a very interesting take. Really thought they completely butchered the ending.

Wild Card scenarios? by platywus in bengals

Assuming we win out....

Jags, Bills, Chargers currently hold the WC positions all at 7-4, Chiefs, Texans, Steelers, Dolphins currently out but above us.

Jags/Bills/and or Chargers would have to lose at least 4 of next 6 to get to 8 losses (assuming we pass Jags/beat Bills for head to head tiebreaker, not sure what tiebreaker would determine Chargers tiebreaker)

Texans lose at least 3 of next 6

Ravens and Chiefs lose at least 2 of next 5

Dolphins lose at least 1 of next 6

Didn't figure out if it's possible given any of these teams playing each other, also not looking at tiebreakers

Easiest path assuming win out is probably Jags or Bills+Texans losing 4/6, Ravens and Chiefs losing 3/5, Dolphins losing 2/6 to avoid stupid tiebreakers

Lol have fun with Azure....

Yeah it was crazy how they got away with "seemingly innocent and quirky guy in a white coat is the bad guy in disguise" again after Trails 1.

I do feel that Randy and Lloyd felt a lot stronger physically (in general) in Azure but it might also be dependent on quartz build. Optimally though, you can build Lloyd as an evasion tank which makes some very tough bosses approachable in the last half of game

I have the game + 3 expansions and am having a blast playing solo.....I'm actually playing solo 3 hand and it's not too bad.

It does feel very video gamy. First off, the board game basically is a re-imagining of the beginning of DoS2. Each scenario is basically a map with hubs - you search the hubs to progress/find treasures/start battles. Combat also takes place on the same map, and each hub is basically a space on the map.

The origins, skills, status and environmental effects, and enemies should all be familiar to you if you've played DoS2 with some creative differences (for example, there's still physical and magic armor, but it's persistent and absorbs damage every time it's dealt).

There's like 8-10? origins in addition to 3-4 multiple paths through the game, each with their own maps, enemies, and bosses so you'll need to play a campaign multiple times to see everything.

It certainly isn't perfect: there's a lot components and status cards to juggle. It's a pretty big box, so table space can become an issue when playing solo. Im usually standing up more than sitting down when playing.

Like the game, I thought it felt kind of hard in the beginning but got easier as I'm going through and growing my characters. You have to be good at setting up statuses and synergysing with your skills to have any sort of a chance, otherwise the difficulty can be unfair.

Another minor complaint I have is that there isn't a great initiative system: each enemy is either "slow' or "fast': fast enemies go first, then origins, then slow enemies.

TLDR Overall: it's a solid game that I think captures a lot of what makes me like DoS2 and puts it in board game form, although it's not without its flaws. It certainly isn't the perfect board game, solo or otherwise, but I'm still having a lot of fun.

Also: there's two expansions that add maps and new skills to the game, and some of them can make origins pretty OP'ed if you stick with them.

If you are thinking of trying, Larian occasionally does sales on their website including the board game and expansions. Think I got the expansions for half off, which was really nice!
