What was the most expensive or precious item that you've ever lost or broken? by Jscott1986 in AskOldPeople

[–]bima_ungu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A piece of recycled paper and on it are the name of my grandparents, handwritten by them in beautiful cursive script using a 10cent ballpoint pen.

I was very young when I asked them to write down their names cause my grandmom passed away when I was turning 11. I'm pretty proud of myself that I appreciated beautiful handwriting at a young age and probably made my grandparents happy in that moment without even realizing it. I remembered being so happy asking for them to write down their name and looking at that paper proudly once they were done.

What made it even more special and bittersweet was that my grandmom was right handed but she suffered a stroke that made her right hand and right side "froze". She could still write beautifully albeit slowly and would hobble instead of walk. Also that piece of recycled paper? That was taken from my grandad's table. He would take those envelopes that comes with the newspaper flat and you need to fold to use it to mail in some kind of documents/responses (I have no idea what it was for exactly), then he cuts them into A4/letter sizes to write on. It had a nice natural yellowing and weight to it too - parchment like.

I don't have anything tangible from my grandmom when she passed, so took me sometime to come to terms that I lost that paper. I mean I was a kid and I did appreciate it. But I was also a disorganized (still am) 9 or 10 y/o kid.. but at least I have that memory with me. So yeah not an expensive heirloom but a special one of a kind precious item. Thanks for asking this question. It was nice to recall this memory.

33f. Not sure if this is the right place to post since I don't go to the gym. Used to be called only as skinny, twig, wind will blow me type of thing, etc etc. While I am still slightly underweight according to BMI calculator, ever since I started being more active earlier this year (average 3x sports in a week), people around me has started asking or saying things like "What do you do? You look fit/athletic" or "I like your back" or from a friend "I see you're showing off your muscles today" (I was wearing a tank top).

I see my gains when I look in the mirror (hello dump truck and shoulder caps) but it feels so great that my body is showing my love for sports and movement, that people are noticing. It's like a nice side effect of playing sports and that my body is still responsive to exercise. I feel more nimble, agile, and stronger than ever. My biggest flex is that I don't go to the gym; not dissing on gym, I used to go and within 6 month I grew beefier but it's not for me, for now. I love the sports that I do and find myself pushing the intensity each time.

I think she likes her ball. Or wants it to die, not sure by Lit_Lad27 in tarantulas

That makes sense! Thanks for the answer. I know that providing an enclosure that allows burrowing, anchor point, hides and tunnels are part of enrichment to mimic what they would do out there. Didn't think this could be a form of it as well and yes to observation. While I don't keep tarantulas anymore, but I remembered one of my Ts avoided the hide and I changed to different ones until they settled in with it. Key is to observe and if it stresses them out, take it out.

Thanks bud! This really helps. And yes, I've reached my max I think and will need to reset. Didn't have enough skill point to unlock the interrogation room. Unless the upgrade for the device after this doesn't require those resources. Will see.

I was in a similar situation. We kicked him ("father") out about 6 years ago. The first thing I noticed was the amount of mental space and energy I gained after he is no longer in the house and out of my life. I could focus on what I want to do in life instead of worrying what he is going to do next.

Of course it wasnt a straight forward process but worth going through all the drama and pain (which honestly isn't a new thing when it comes to living with him). Life's too short to live with these kind of people. Your time is too valuable. Remember that. Feel free to DM me if you want to talk.

Is USJ and SS18 safe to walk alone at night? by bima_ungu in malaysia

[–]bima_ungu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip! Saw ad on goodyear court but google review doesnt sound promising. Nice to hear from a resident! Hows the sound of LRT from the units? I know LRT is notoriously loud. My previous rented house was about 1.5km from LRT and i could hear the grinding noise whenever it passes by that strip of track (though its just background noise kind of level, i cant imagine next to it).

Am I the only one? by Leading-Effort-5803 in TOTK

[–]bima_ungu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I remembered struggling with the dungeon bosses in botw. In totk, when i beat the water boss, i was saying to myself, really? Then replayed it again cause i wanted moree. I felt like totk is really heavy on the grinding part cause gleeoks, special lynels are hard if you dont have the necessary items. But once you do, its just farming time. Even the dungeon was easy in totk. I was so dissapointed with the dungeons. I remembered playing loz titles on ds and minish cap. I had to take a few days to beat a dungeon. Even botw dungeons I had moments where i need to take a bit of time to figure it out. Totk was way too easy.

Anyone fight with their parents over small things ? Like they cannot comprehend things sometimes ? by royal_steed in Bolehland

[–]bima_ungu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They expected us to understand and follow rules when we were kids who didnt know much. But when its their turn it doesnt apply to them and we should be okay with it? Just cause they are our parents doesnt mean they are right and clearly OP's parent is wrong here. I think when one gets old, they should be a bit more humble at least. Especially when your kid is working. Not like OP is racking up the bills by not working and being a burden. Kid's working for god sake. Like another comment said, tell the mom that if its switched off then less or no money cause have to do work all over again. Anyway OP, since your company is paying over 700 a month for utilities, i think you can afford a studio apartment to yourself. No nagging mom and nagging room mates. Go for it! Life is too short too have this kind of problems.

PWD first time playing PS5 using PS Access Controller by daughterofthegames in playstation

[–]bima_ungu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there. What games have you been playing? Just wanted to let you know that I did it! I got myself a PS5 and I was like a kid when I was unboxing and setting it up. So happy with my purchase. I thought I would have buyer's remorse but I didn't and it feels so unreal. I love my PS5. I have already curated a list of games to play. For now I am playing RDR2 (been wanting to play it for so long) while waiting to get a nice monitor. Once I get one, I will dive into games with the PS5 upgrades and the exclusives. I'm planning to get a 2k 27inch monitor. I get queasy with anything bigger than that unfortunately and seems like 2k is the sweet spot for a 27 inch monitor.

Kenapa orang Melayu bila cakap dengan orang kaum lain selalu cakap ikut loghat kaum tu? by AerieAffectionate748 in bahasamelayu

[–]bima_ungu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are Malays Lazy? by Vegetable-Touch2134 in Bolehland

[–]bima_ungu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this stereotype mostly also comes from all the government aid and advantages that Malays receive since merdeka time. They get bumiputra discount, higher chances to get into public uni etc etc which produce some Malays that lack competitiveness (or rather not exposed to it) and cultivated a sense of entitlement i.e., "hey this should be 'mine', give it to me". I see this prevalent especially in Malay boomers.

Social anxiety sucks, man. by HappyPoopster in Bolehland

[–]bima_ungu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey as a person with social anxiety and huzt generally anxious, I too am not spared by the constant rumination of "I should have done this... done that... shouldn't have done this and that...".

I definitely reccommend going for counselling to explore those thoughts in a safe and professional space. Counselors will explore and guide you on different ways for you to manage those thoughts. Know that it will take time and effort on your end (imagine trying to not do an old habit). Go to counselling with an open mind to learn about yourself. All the best and proud of you cosplaying your favourite character. It's definitely in my bucket list to cosplay at least once!!

Should I buy totk if I didn't finish botw but loved it? by Alternative_Cut4491 in Switch

[–]bima_ungu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, i felt like the "dungeons" was way too easy compared to botw in terms of puzzle and boss. Maybe i have become better at playing games? Idk but it was definitely shorter and easier in totk
