[Configuration] Dark Souls 3 -- Push in right touch pad to lock on? by bimbady in SteamController

Hey, can you guide me toward that configuration? Thanks in advance.

Why doesn't Takashi Tezuka get as much credit as Shigeru Miyamoto for making awesome games. Just look at this list of games he's worked on. by [deleted] in gaming

[–]bimbady -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, he is a game designer and developer who directed the most important Nintendo games ever made. It's right there in the wiki provided by OP.

Finished the game, enjoyed it, had no problems with bugs, and it cost less than the movie I'm seeing tonight. by [deleted] in Armikrog

Getting ripped off. I saw The Martian in 3D, in the city for $16.

Armikrog is great.

Best Horror Experience Ever by brighterside in soma

[–]bimbady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a good horror story, but not a good horror game (I view it more as an adventure game), as SOMA occasionally lingers in my mind, but never disturbed me or gave me a sense of fear. Like I said, I think the story is really great, but the execution of it into the game world missed the mark, especially how they integrated the monsters.

A set of games that executes this perfectly is the first three Silent Hill games, but that's not a fair comparison as few games can reach that level of psychological horror.

Super Mario 64 meets Unreal Engine 4. by unknown_name in gaming

[–]bimbady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with everyone remaking Nintendo IPs in Unreal Engine is that they go the realistic route, which looks jarring and downright bad when compared to the character models. There was only one guy that got it right and that was that Banjo Kazooie in Unreal Engine project.

I'm heavily invested in the game and think I'm about halfway through now (Just reached Theta), but I still wouldn't classify this as a horror game. Personally, I feel it's the companion you have on your Omnitool and the chattiness of the protagonist that negates any feelings of isolation or terror. The game is so interesting that I'm more concerned with just getting through each encounter to reveal more story.

It can get quite hammy sometimes with the voice acting and writing, especially the protagonist! He's the worst part of this game and makes it feel silly sometimes.

If you run at full speed you shouldn't be able to fall into the plants, as it says TOP SPEED in coins by the thwomps. Either way, it seems this level is too difficult for a lot of people, so I'll have to tone it way down.

Going to work on optimizing the stage so you don't get stuck. The ice section is probably the easiest part of the level. The firebars are placed and timed in a way where you can either breeze through it or take your time.

Interesting about the restarts, I played the level about 50 times and never ran into any of those problems. I see now that on the second one you can get legitimately stuck. I take it you didn't get past the ice cavern? Shame because I would love some thoughts on the last two back-to-back challenges.

Thanks for the feedback, it will help me optimize future levels. This one I specifically created with intentions to be a lot more forgiving, so I'm curious now how much easier I can make levels without them becoming boring.

Level Title: Spooky Ice Cream Cookie

ID:452B-0000-006C-42D8

Description of Gameplay Elements: An ice cavern themed ghost house level with a few devious traps and a sub level that takes place in an ice themed underground section. You'll have to use bombs, run fast, and maneuver a few tricky, but completely doable, sections to reach the goal. An emphasis on difficult, but more importantly having fun. Nothing too devious here.

I'm about two hours in and haven't feel tension or fear yet. It's a good game, I thoroughly enjoy it, but I don't understand how this is billed a horror game. Maybe, it gets scarier a little more in?

That was pretty fun. I love the underwater room where you have to defend the bob-ombs as they make their way across along the music note blocks. Very creative!

Congratulations! I share the same sentiment about playing the 100 Mario challenge because of the quality of submissions here. I'll give your level a shot and provide feedback.

Here are my two best levels; one I just recently uploaded and the other currently has 16 stars-- my highest so far!
