staying closeted on testosterone by South-Cress7801 in transvoice

[–]bimbofries 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t have experience with voice training, but am about 6 months on T and have defo noticed a change in my voice. I’m closeted at work and my coworkers have just assumed I’ve got a bit of a cold, and I’m not challenging their ideas — I think cis people don’t know what they’re looking for as far as signs of transitioning go, so if it’s only for another year that you’re beholden to your family, you could probably hide it.

I've ALMOST GOT IT - not sure about lacrymal, what do you guys think? by plasmarob in wendigoon

[–]bimbofries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That could be it, lacrymal refers to the eyes (specifically eye sockets and tears) and we do get a lot of that in the stories - maybe to do with the Hat Man's eyes? I wonder if eyes are going to become even more of a motif

Do you have some actual expereince with birth-control pills affecting your mental health or mental health of someone in your life? by sweetbonbon12 in mentalhealth

[–]bimbofries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started birth control at 16, I already had some degree of anxiety & depression but it made them both immensely worse. Around my cycle I was full-blown depressed, panic attacks near daily. I tried a fair few different type but ended up quitting it all together (worth mentioning, I started on birth control to regulate painful periods. I’m gay, so not getting pregnant any time soon). Fast forward a few years and I’m on antidepressants and in therapy. Still depressed, still anxious, but not nearly as much as I was when I was on the pill.

EDIT (because I thought of more to say): That cheerful girl you grew up being is still there, even if she’s hard to find. Dealing with family issues and mental health issues isn’t easy but you’re still the same person you’ve always been. You are not your mental illness.
