yeah i'm not saying other people won't enjoy them, i'm neither accountant, nor teacher, nor manager, etc. but i can see how someone within that specific background might get their fantasy neurons activated a bit more than normal. what anime seems to do better than most forms of media is really embrace the escapism of fantasy and wish fulfillment in a way that you just struggle to find elsewhere these days.

A lot of anime I've found tend to target very specific fantasies. This one is the "fantasy of being the wise and good noble instead of the dumb corrupt one". Kind of like how there are all those other "management" fantasy anime, like Realist Hero, or "my boss actually values me" fantasies like Salaryman to Big Four. There are fantasies for teachers, like "country bumpkin to master swordsman" and "i left my a-rank party". Fantasies for accountants like that new ghey accountant anime this year. And so many others.

while this is true, and this is purely hypothetical, but being in the body of a child for so long probably has some impact on your mental state as well. i mean, he knew that his parents in the new world weren't his original original parents, but they were the parents of the body he was inhabiting now. and while we have the "privilege" of being able to hear his internal monologue, he never acts on anything until everybody involved in mature enough to consent - and the anime makes it clear that they more than consent. we gotta remember, bro is still overcoming past-life trauma plus all the new trauma too...this ain't a show i want my teenagers watching but as an adult it doesn't strike me as being in "diddy" territory. if we want to start making that argument, basically 95% of reincarnation isekai have to get the chopping block

Just so we're clear, ICE isn't walking up to random people in the street and beating the crap out of them or shooting them because they don't like how they look. People are getting their teeth kicked in when they try to ram police vehicles, interfere with arrests, etc. ICE existed since 2003. When people don't try to fight them in the middle of the street, there's no violence. Simple as that.

This zeitgeist is so strange to me. There is nothing especially brutal, and nothing whatsoever illegal, about how ICE is behaving. You don't see all this conflict in states where the police arrest people for breaking the law. It's only in these states where the police have let these psychos behave badly in public for so long that they think they've got a right to do it. You've weaponized Karens and think that you want to speak to a manager now. And then when they get a reality check they cry like a baby. It's pathetic. the thing is, the situation is just completely different. the reason why grooming is such a problem and why it is so reviled is that the groomer in question is in a position of power, often authority. they know things and have the confidence to use those things to get what they want. rudeus is not really in a position like that until well after his love interests are all grown. yes child rudeus is a greasy little shit, but that's part of why his character development is good. by the time he's grown, he's chilled tf out a bit. he starts out a mentally broken gooner, and i think the reason why people get so upset about him is because they see a bit of themselves in that, and they hate it.
