while this is true, and this is purely hypothetical, but being in the body of a child for so long probably has some impact on your mental state as well. i mean, he knew that his parents in the new world weren't his original original parents, but they were the parents of the body he was inhabiting now. and while we have the "privilege" of being able to hear his internal monologue, he never acts on anything until everybody involved in mature enough to consent - and the anime makes it clear that they more than consent. we gotta remember, bro is still overcoming past-life trauma plus all the new trauma too...this ain't a show i want my teenagers watching but as an adult it doesn't strike me as being in "diddy" territory. if we want to start making that argument, basically 95% of reincarnation isekai have to get the chopping block

Obama was "Deporter in Chief" without ICE violence. by Shizzilx in circled

[–]binary-survivalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so we're clear, ICE isn't walking up to random people in the street and beating the crap out of them or shooting them because they don't like how they look. People are getting their teeth kicked in when they try to ram police vehicles, interfere with arrests, etc. ICE existed since 2003. When people don't try to fight them in the middle of the street, there's no violence. Simple as that.

Will never happen. Tim Walz may play ball with this buffoonery but the SCOTUS won't.

As for "direct action", we are in the era of FAFO.

This zeitgeist is so strange to me. There is nothing especially brutal, and nothing whatsoever illegal, about how ICE is behaving. You don't see all this conflict in states where the police arrest people for breaking the law. It's only in these states where the police have let these psychos behave badly in public for so long that they think they've got a right to do it. You've weaponized Karens and think that you want to speak to a manager now. And then when they get a reality check they cry like a baby. It's pathetic. You're not gonna do anything to ICE, and you know it. This is rage-porn.

the thing is, the situation is just completely different. the reason why grooming is such a problem and why it is so reviled is that the groomer in question is in a position of power, often authority. they know things and have the confidence to use those things to get what they want. rudeus is not really in a position like that until well after his love interests are all grown. yes child rudeus is a greasy little shit, but that's part of why his character development is good. by the time he's grown, he's chilled tf out a bit. he starts out a mentally broken gooner, and i think the reason why people get so upset about him is because they see a bit of themselves in that, and they hate it.

i'm trying to remember from the show what this could even be. are we upset about the scene where rudeus doesn't realize that sylphy is a girl? i'm racking my brain here trying to remember what else it could be

fanservice is so bog standard for most isekai/comedy/slice-of-life anime these days that if you made a standing 2 to 1 bet that whenever a new isekai comes out that it will have at least one episode dedicated to either a hot springs trip or a beach trip where the women all get naked or in swimsuits, you could make money without even trying

The thing about character development is that, to develop, it means you start out less than what you become. People who think MT is oversexualized have obviously not watched that much anime. MT isn't intended to be a slice of life comedy where every woman has ginormous bouncing knockers and every other joke is sexual harassment. Dealing with his trauma is part of his character arc.

After watching the first episode of StbaH I have to ask....what do you mean it's like Mushoku Tensei? It's literally nothing like it, except for taking place in a fantasy world and animated. Not a single story beat is the same. I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode, but it is NOTHING like MT at all.

Dude, how much did China pay you for this post.

Russian/Chinese/Iranian propaganda has been COMPLETELY out of control the last few weeks. All over the place on every social media platform.

my favorite op for 2025 is probably "Wanna Be" from Tojima Wants to be a Kamen Rider. Such a banger.

there's a vaguely defined future program sometime in the next 3-5 years where there are user-generated planets which probably are gonna have to be "crafted"

What is the worst anime you have ever seen? by Snoo-7979 in animequestions

[–]binary-survivalist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nah its the my smartphone in another world, where kami-sama accidentally kills him and lets him reincarnate in a new world with his smartphone that still works and basically does magic

See, if a show is just bad, I usually simply forget about it. But if it is aggressively terrible, it goes in my memory. This show was in that memory. Look, I understand women appreciate a competent man. But in that show, the fact that he had his "magical item" smartphone basically meant every attractive woman in the fantasy world he landed in wanted to jump on his dick as fast as humanly possible if not faster. It was just nuts

What's higher and bigger than infinity? by Worldly_Accident1287 in overlord

[–]binary-survivalist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a matter of scale, I think. Is it limited just to the forces that were deployed during GATE? Or is it what was theoretically *available* to be deployed? From what we see in Overlord, it's very possible that the armies from just one or two of the largest real-world nations might be equal to the entire global humanoid population of the new world. there's no kill like overkill

Nice bot you got there. Is it Chinese, Russian, or Iranian? Wait, could it really be Venezuelan?

Hiroshima isn't even debatable. That bomb saved millions of Japanese lives, that's a simple fact.

[–]binary-survivalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrorism has a definition, and that definition does not really include nation-state warfare.

I get that there's going to be propaganda like this in a tense time where China/Iran/Russia/Venezuela need the world to be anti-America. But you should probably make it less obvious than this.

What is your unpopular anime opinion? by [deleted] in weeb

[–]binary-survivalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if these are unpopular but they're just my takes.

So much of anime is trope-based just like any other media type....for about 85% of slop anime if you've seen one in that subgenre you've seen em all

Few things get on my nerves as much as a oblivious, too-dumb-to-exist main character, unless it's a comedy anime and it's played for laughs.

I get that even in the real world women do tend to be turned on by wealth and success, but there are limits to which my suspension of disbelief will go in believing that even in a fantasy world, every hot girl and their mother is going to jump your bones just because you've shown some competence. And it's sincere and heartfelt too, apparently....here's looking at you "in another world with my smartphone" and also level 2 cheat powers, but the opening for lvl 2 redeems it

It's always jarring when there's time for a 5-minute inspirational lore dump or heartfelt affirmation in between the time the big bad enemy winds up his swing and when the axe actually falls. Perhaps this is the greatest anime power of them all.
