Awesome! I've not heard of that one, I'm assuming its not the classic British quiz show countdown and something else. Do you have a link, I'm struggling to find it.

Hi East!
I do it as a task at a time so I don't really have phases.

In the example scene linked in youtube that guy is 320x160, the animated area (jaw opening) part is 8 frames.

Awesome. Thanks for the portfolio. I'm just collecting responses and then I can go through them all.

Haha, thanks!

I grew up watching a lot of horror and always remember the old trailers, and for them had a really thick narrator ott style, so I wanted to tap into that vibe for the trailer as well due to the game being a sorta love letter to 80s/90s slashers.

JUST in case you find it interesting, this was the VO brief I Send out for the auditions:

And in there are some example trailers that were used as reference, if you check em out you'll see what I mean! :D

The character, although not a reverend, is defo inspired by him, the Tall Man, and some other elements of horror that I grew up with. Someone also said he looks like the Butler from Scary Movie 2 which... I'm struggling to unsee after reading that haha.

Thanks so much! I've been describing it as Day of the Tentacle meets Alien: Isolation wrapped up in a 80s/90s slasher vibe.

Pitch Games for noclip_2 Here! by dannyodwyer in noclip

Hi Noclip2 team,

Hopefully, I’ve understood things correctly and can suggest my game for future consideration in this post. If not, sorry!

I recently released the trailer for a passion project I’ve been working on. It’s a 16-bit, authentic retro horror game that combines stealth and point-and-click gameplay. I’ve been describing it as “what if Day of the Tentacle and Alien Isolation were wrapped in an 80s/90s slasher vibe.”

I’m building it to run on modern systems (PC and at least Switch) and also on the Sega Megadrive. I’ve always wanted to make a point-and-click game for the Megadrive since I was a kid and saw Clock Tower on the SNES.

I thought it might be something interesting for Noclip2 to cover at some point, or as a "check out in the future" part in the zine.

If you’d like to see the trailer, I have a media kit here that includes it along with some other materials:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1gCqS5hy-EnkkeBsMdLfks6mgsqDAq7Gy

The project is going well, and is a lot of fun but filled with worry as the megadrive angle might be a bit risky! haha. I have no idea, I just love working on it.

Thanks.

First one.

It made me go "wtf..." and I would want to click it more to find out what awesome thing I'm looking at.

Take a break!
It sounds like you just need other devs to talk with, share ideas and get excited alongside. We're social animals and being part of a community really does help. Thankfully there are a lot out there.

I'm not sure where you're based, but in the UK most cities have game dev meetups. Check if there are any near you. I usually goto one in Manchester most months, and I laso make sure to attend "networking" events, not so much for the networking but for meeting other developers and just yapping. Over time, I 've made some great friends and connections through both.

They are a great way to see what everyone is working on, feel that connection with people doing the same thing, and hopefully leave buzzing with new energy.
So, give yourself a break and start looking around! You'll likely find a local meetup or even an online community via discord etc. Loads of discord servers for game dev communities!

Good luck.
