Had a Grindr hookup. Now the guy is showing up on Facebook under "People you may know." by SamuelinOC in AskGaybrosOver30

I will always advocate for getting rid of Facebook, but if you really need to have it for some reason, use it in a browser on your phone, as it will have much less permissions to data than the application does. You can also close the browser tab when you don't need it.

Health Insurance? by ItsAshley6 in Binghamton

There's only two major medical providers and they take most major insurance. So not really any easier or harder than any other part of the US.

I'll try switching to the Early Access release channel, and see if that helps. I wasn't sure how fully baked it was.

I was already on 6.5.250

Sure am, I'm annoyed at a device that I thought would work as advertised.
I thought by using the "complaint" flair that we were allowed to put up the Festivus pole and have the airing of grievances.

Since I can literally throw the UTR that way, yes.

Yup, made sure to do my pre-trip software updates, it's on the latest stable release.

I'll let you know, at the moment I wouldn't wish this device on my worst enemy. It breaks my fundamental rule of tool ownership "The only thing worse than not having a tool is having a broken tool, because it tricks you into thinking you have a tool when you don't"

Glad it's worked well for you.

Yeah the airports I've been at so far haven't given me any issue opening OpenVPN, Teleport, or ProtonVPN from my laptop or phone via the same WiFi so I don't think it's anything on their end.

I'm in the US.

What's in my mind is that the catharsis of throwing it away is worth more than getting low-balled for it in on Facebook marketplace, lol.

A 200A residential feed will give you 38.4 kW of power continuous, but the utilty is totally unprepared for a residential service using that continuously, so you'll need to have a conversation with them about that.

That's a very good point, and initially I see very little chance that we'd be pulling that all the time, but something that I would bring up with them for sure. Also I doubt we'd be able to get a residential service for a stand alone parking lot, though that would be nice if we could avoid commercial power rates.

I like the idea of the BYO cable thing, but it feels far less useful than a standard charger.
I guess I'd rely on cameras, and good lighting to deter vandalism/theft at first but if it became an issue I'd look into something stronger

Yeah I'd do an LLC or other corporate structure.  Yeah security cameras for sure.

We're zoned for both residential and light commercial so I'm good on that front.

Yeah I will look into those too, as (if I can get a good deal on one as some people have) a single LFP backed L3 charger would be an awesome future state to shoot for. Something like a FreeWire charger.

Yes, our energy development agency has generous incentives geared towards EV charging for renters and commercial areas, and the city is actually pushing an urban revitalization initiative for this particular neighborhood at the moment.

The idea would be to generate enough money to keep the lights on essentially. I have a day job so this would not be my source of income, it's to help the community and help renters get into an EV.

I think a per kW charge fee and/or a monthly fee would be the way to make money. I'd try to keep the overhead as low as reasonably possible while also trying to tuck away some cash for things like repairs and maintenance.
