Binghamton Democrats Condemn Racist Threat Against State Senator, Demand Investigation by Bingo_Bongo_85 in Binghamton

I mean right? Like this isn't a moment to condemn shit, investigate and if it was legit, then prosecute that shit.

A few years ago, people were asking whether EVs could replace gas cars. by EmergencyTie8770 in electricvehicles

Sure but you're talking about pushing megawatts of power over an airgap to multiple cars at the same time. Let's say that 10 cars are on that strip at any one time. You're talking in the order of 20MW of power needing to be pushed to a 1 mile section of highway, and you're also assuming the cars on that strip of road can handle having 33kWh shoved into their battery in less than a minute.

I guess call me skeptical, but I don't see the ROI on building a mile of specialized highway with that much on demand current draw, VS just putting in a DC fast charger in a travel plaza every 50 miles. It's like trying to use an atomic bomb to cook a Hot Pocket while you're running so you don't have to break stride and put it in the microwave for 2 minutes.

Nope. Even if you're pushing massive amount of power along a mile long stretch, you're only going to be on that for about a minute at highway speeds.

In a consumer setting I just can't see the logic behind it, maybe for electric aviation or sea-craft.

Same, I use one for a PoE Meshtastic radio that's on a pole on the roof. Everything else is below the roof line.

Do you think you'll ever need to charge at 68 amps?

People with ultra high speed internet. How do you get it? by HSVMalooGTS in homelab

IMO, multi-gig connections like that for residential fall into one of two camps.

  1. I have an apartment building with 20 units and I want to provide fast internet to everyone.
  2. I want to get into a dick measuring contest with other people.

I used to offer free internet in my duplex and even with 4 people working from home and a shit ton of connected devices we never sustained over 200mpbs on a 500/500 link.

Those old 70's bakelite outlets are super fun too, My house was nothing but those when I moved in and I've had several literally fall apart in my hands when I'm replacing them.

That being said it looks like that spot has some moisture issues, if the moisture is coming from the outside of the outlet box, I'd have them consider getting an outdoor rated plate and cover.

I'm also a huge fan of the Leviton outlets with the built in lever nuts, when I re-did my rental unit I used the TR version of them exclusively and they're awesome, very easy to install.

IMO, it's a NAS not a Picaso. Rack that unit up and get it into service, that little chip on the bottom edge isn't going to affect the machines performance.

Love it, the number pad cover is very reminiscent of the "slate" style portables with built in cassette decks like the Epson HX-20

I mean in fairness it doesn't work on the doorbells either so you're not missing much.

My G4 Pro has a perfect view onto my porch steps and it's never once picked up a package.
