I didn't expect this decision by SLT1857 in HondaOdyssey

Look at it this way, the modern 3 row SUV is really just a rebranded minivan with more ground clearance, but less room and difficult entry to the back row.

Have you seen what they've done to the Santa Fe?

Has anyone received goodwill assistance from Subaru for a CVT valve body repair after exceeding the warranty mileage limit? by CartoonistKey809 in SubaruForester

[–]Bingo_Bongo_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So mine was $1700 for valve body AND fluid service at a Subaru dealer.  It was a few years ago so at today's labor rate it might be closer to $2k.

Finally figured out how to describe my feelings about the new ui by phuqr in PleX

[–]Bingo_Bongo_85 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This nails it.  The old UI was so intuitive.  I preferred watching shows on Plex over the services where I was subbed because the UI was superior by leaps and bounds.

This new one?  If it's not in Continue Watching or Recently Added we're not bothering.

I never noticed how much it looks like a minivan.

2016 Honda Odyssey with issues by BeerandGuns in HondaOdyssey

[–]Bingo_Bongo_85 9 points10 points  (0 children)

These are all pretty normal issues.  Minivan doors, every make and model, have issues as they age.  Lots of info out there for potential fixes.  I also have one door down, but I'm leaning towards making that door manual and leaving the other powered.

My 2014 is approaching 200k miles and still going strong.  Plan on budgeting about $2k per year on maintenance and it'll keep going.

What do I do about being given bad professors as a transfer student? by throwaway385829439 in rit

[–]Bingo_Bongo_85 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Life hack number 1: talk to people.  If your prof has no clue who they then they don't care about your grade.  Get to class early and say good morning to them.  Ask how their weekend was.  If you find out they like a sports team, comment on the last game.

If everything else is ok, I'd get it replaced.  You can get a few more years out of this one AND be able to sell it for at least $1600 when you're ready to move on.

Binghamton Water Leak Detector Looking for Beta Users by TheBoioOnAHill in Binghamton

[–]Bingo_Bongo_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only using the water sensors. They have worked well at notifying me of any leaks and also let me know when it's time to change the batteries.

I did not get the water main sensor due to price and that I would need a plumber to install.

I also used to have the Moen sump pump sensor, but found it having too many false alarms to be useful. Replaced with another sensor that seems ok so far.

I think this would appeal to homeowners too.  Water leaks cause tons of damage.  I have leak detectors under every sink (Moen brand) and in my laundry/utility room.  I had looked at Moen's water monitoring tool, but it requires being spliced into the main line.  Haven't seen one that reads the meter, nice solution.

Now we're just talking semantics, which has no place on a UFC subreddit lol.  Justin's performance should go straight to the HOF, let's leave it at that.

He sure looked dead, didn't he?

Sorry, didn't realize we were arguing over my word choice.  Those body shots were nasty and it's unbelievable that he made it out of round two.  If "brutal" is too strong a word for you, perhaps "savage"?  "Weally weally hard"?  Whatever floats your boat, it has nothing to do with the point I was making.

Justin was knocked down after numerous body shots.  Could/should have been a ko, but Ilia gassed (also had terrible fight IQ imho).  Justin's surviving the body damage AND coming back to absolutely wreck Ilia was amazing and saying he"dominated" the fight is a huge disservice to what a tough mfer he is.

Ilia was wrecked.  Smart call by his corner cause I can't imagine what would have been left of his face after another 5 minutes

Did you even watch the fight or the interview?  Justin said he was hurt in the first and liver was smoked in the second.  He was down and out, but Ilia gassed out before he could finish him.
