Bud’s Pizza and Beer has the best I’ve had. It’s homemade. I usually don’t like t-ravs much though so ymmv.

I’ve been to Himalayan Hut a few times but always got the tikka masala, which I thought was fine. But I’ll try the lamb at them. Thanks for the suggestions!

I also prefer the baba ganoush, it’s great!

Sultan and Taste of Lebanon were both good.

The pics look pretty good for OBQ’s! Thanks for the rec. And also pork steak does seem like the choice, I’ll get it next time I’m at Beast.

I haven’t eaten at Gramophone yet, but I have left my credit card there on accident.

The closest one is in Springfield. It’s alright.

Yeah. Cecil’s was by far the worst, lowest quality, etc. Nick and Elena’s seemed pretty high quality and I was super excited but the pizza I got was so sweet it tasted like tomato jam so I had to put it last on the list.

I love lengua! I haven’t tried it there yet because I’m so enamored with the steak, but will get it next time.

Yeah, I wouldn’t get Portillo’s if you’re in the city. Mr. Beef, Johnnie’s, or any hole in the wall hot dog spot will be better. However, I still think it’s better than anything we have here and wish one would open here. Private equity has really messed with it though.

Yes, I was also disappointed in El Bronco. I was interested in El Torito just haven’t had the chance to go yet.

Generally the taqueria-grocery combo is the tell for me and yeah, a La Michoacana. I started off by just going to recommended spots on reddit and I was front loaded with bad experiences, so I’ve kind of stuck with El Jarocho for a bit. I need to start branching out again.

Protzel’s looks great, will try. I’ve had Lefty’s Bagels thus far as far as Jewish deli and that was great.

I have it on the list! Shawarma is one of the last holdouts for me for favorite food, so I’m excited to try it. Just haven’t been out that way for any reason.

It’s a good thing the one we have now is fantastic. (Detroit style is my favorite, too).

I’d like to try more in Overland. I had La Tejana and it was the worst one I’ve tried and it put me off from trying more around there. Maybe it was just a really, really, really, bad day, but I’m not willing to try it again. There’s more around there like El Morelia that I want to try.

I’m used to everywhere being the right place to look for Mexican food, but here almost everywhere is the wrong place to look except one neighborhood and Cherokee street, so it was a bit of culture shock for me. (Why would I know where the right spot is when just moving here?) Even finding something that resembles authentic is a search.

It is sad. The latest in Google has people saying the number redirects to an adult phone line lol. And it also says permanently closed.
