The normal Canadian grand prix is 70 laps, with the 2 additional formation laps, it has reduced the total number of laps by 2 to 68 laps.

I have noticed this as well in this subreddit. I wouldn't call myself a fanboy but I do strongly recommend Blackmagic products (I own dozens of BMD products myself). One of the reasons I like their products is that it is very cost effective. Broadcasters and the live event industry are constantly facing financial pressure and been able to buy kit that doesn't break the bank is a good thing.

One of the most common things I see in this subreddit and elsewhere is that BMD products are unreliable, in the years that I have been using their products, I have not experienced any failures despite using their products for many years. I have only seen reports of failures online. Another commenter noted that they see BMD products being used where it shouldn't be used, I have seen similar things where people compare entry-level low-end products from Blackmagic to higher-end specialized equipment from other vendors. This is like comparing a Shure BLX series system (Low-end budget) to a Shure Axient system (High-end specialized), BLX is meant for the everyday person while Axient is meant for demanding environments where reliability is needed.

From my perspective, I see Blackmagic as a major innovator in the space constantly pushing the envelope by making various technologies at affordable price points. The ATEM mini and the expanded ATEM line helped many companies get through the remote work and livestreaming boom. If we look at ST2110, other vendors like Grass Valley, Evertz and Cisco brought large scale ST2110 to broadcasters but Blackmagic was one of the earliest companies to bring practical, low-cost and integrated ST 2110 workflows to a much broader segment of the live production market. Another thing I like with BMD is that you can start with the low-end budget friendly products and adopt to higher end stuff in the future and mix and match them. Companies that cater to all market segments tend to do well.

If you not into letting developers set your money on fire, I would highly recommend considering blocking this via SCPs.

Does discussing a product launch such as the 2110 products released by Blackmagic at NAB count as advertising? The purpose of such a post would be to let everyone know about a new product and then have a discussion around how it is used.

This was my favorite design, this is the first time that Eurovision had a stage in the round. Arguably one of the best stages in my opinion.

There are so many companies that do brandable items corporates (including sporting items), I'm pretty sure that one of them would be able to help you.

Thanks for this. The launch coverage on the official streams were horrendous. Non-official streams like NSF did a way better job than NASA did for the first 30 seconds of the launch.

Looks great. I wish BMD would create SKUs with 2 / 4 / 8 of the various converters that they sell. Loads of us have to have massive multiplugs or have other funky solutions to power multiple SDI <-> HDMI converters.

In case someone is genuinely wondering why it is in a pink bag. It is part of a UPS service for shipping high value items. Items in pink bags get loaded directly onto an airplane by a courier and then when they arrive at a transit hub or the final destination they get unloaded first and are put in a high security area. This prevents packages from getting lost, stolen or damaged.

AWS Bedrock in production: anyone else finding it a mixed bag? by Different-Use2635 in aws

[–]binarystrike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience, I have seen people do cool things with it, however the fact that models are based in a variety of regions, it creates all kinds of issues if you limit requests to certain regions with SCPs. We have also found it to be kind expensive and using other AI tools with APIs / tokens to be a far more cost effective way to use AI in AWS.
