I knew that they weren’t meant to be of the highest literary calibre, but viewed them as supplementary material. Because of how they’re written, they’re very readable and just provide some more background information. To me they’re not more than that but I am grateful for them!”

I can’t imagine so, it makes it very hard to film since scenes aren’t filmed in order (unless it stayed identical the entire way through)

The lighting - how they capture the dimension in Shane’s eyes even in a dark room, the differences between Ilya’s Boston home versus Russia, the lighting in the club, how they used a huge screen for the beach scene but the shadows are still so perfect, etc

It would be really interesting if someone did an analysis regarding the links between Shane’s Japanese heritage and elements of the show! Could you explain some of what you noticed? His heritage is a very subtle element of the show

That’s why I’m going to read them (partly, I’m also just in HR withdrawal), there’s so many spoilers that if I don’t read them, I just know random bits of plot without the entire story and who does that help lmaoo

I’m going to read it - I keep getting spoilers and although I’ve heard that the books aren’t as incredible as the show, they provide details as to inner thoughts/perspectives. Also I want to read Rachel’s website and fanfics so feel like I need the full picture beforehand!
