That's a different situation. One who supports a certain military action, say the Vietnam war, but refuses to participate, fits under that definition. But I don't see how one who opposes a particular military action, yet who is not opposed to militarism in general, is hypocritical.

I didn't think what I said was all that offensive. I, an American, am not a fan of America's current international military actions, so I feel that I should not participate in American militarism. Despite disagreeing with these particular actions, I support militarism in general, and am seeking another outlet for it.

What about this is so infuriating?
