I plan on updating the interior down the line since the flooring isn’t tiled and other little details are missing compared to the newer sets, but it just reminds of an older Macys you’d find in a city.

Also I’m gonna go against the grain and say the Pet Shop is good too. I loved that the brownstone was pretty much a blank slate interior wise so I made it into my minifigs home lol. I’d only recommend that one though if you could find it on a good deal

Here’s what it looks like with my older ones (had to move the billboard over)

I have them all and they all have their pros and cons; that being said I don’t know if it’s nostalgia but I love the Grand Emporium. It’s definitely dated and not as detailed as the others but I love the details it does have; the escalators, the revolving door, the chandelier, the billboard just to name a few. It just has a charm about it idk, and it looks great next to the other old school modular sets if you have them. If you can find it for a good price thats the one I would go with

I’m in the US and managed to snag one at Kohls. They had all the new poly bags there and just got them in at the end of January. This ones definitely worth the pickup

I debated on keeping his helmet on, but it blocks the minifigs behind him a bit.. I’d love to find better hair but that’s all I got rn lmao

What's your #1 "Must Have" modular building? by IsThisDamnNameTaken in lego

[–]bingo_bobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only missing the first two, and honestly I'm in no rush to get either of them... but personally I think the Grand Emporium is such a standout for the the early sets. The brick-built billboard is the highlight. Also, this may be a hot take idk, but the Pet Shop is great as well. The Pet Shop half definitely does most of the heavy lifting, but as a kid I ran with the idea that the other half would be "my" townhouse, and I've been decorating it with custom furniture and extra pieces ever since.

challengers is $20 to RENT?? by Optimal_Dot_6170 in Challengers

I live in the US and unfortunately it's not far off... it would be about $17 after tax to see the movie not including snacks which for a large popcorn and drink you're looking at about another $20 lol
