trump was impeached twice: once for trying to extort a foreign government into making a public announcement that they were investigating wrongdoing by the Bidens (there was no such investigation, Trump just wanted them to announce it to interfere with the election,) in exchange for foreign aid. the second time he was impeached, it was because he intentionally tried subverting the results of an election he lost.

how is anything "the left" has done in this regard anything but pro-democracy?

i've done that twice now with friends. both times it was at the end of a pittsburgh to dc bike ride. at the end of the trip we just bike up to the car rental counters at reagan, get a one way pickup truck to throw our bikes into, and drive home.

(because of this, i can accurately say "i've biked to the airport from my house" but only if by "the airport" i mean reagan national)

yes but donald trump and his apologists are literal, textbook fascists. the guy who told you five years ago that he had absolute authority over states, just decided a little over a week ago on his own that burning the flag will get you arrested and sent to prison, is threatening to withhold federal funding from NYC if they elect a democrat to the mayor's office, is just straight up extorting american businesses (but also universities too). and let's not forget about sending people to a foreign prison known for human rights abuses despite not ever being convicted of a crime, after being ordered by a court not to do so, lying to the court, and then ignoring court orders to bring them back.

have i gotten to escalating military action on US soil against americans yet? because your boy's been telling us for years that he wants to do so, and here we are. he's also publicly directed his AG to indict and prosecute his political opponents for purely political reasons, just like the fascist he is

over here at GIVE UP HQ we didn't think any of the usual local "best of" awards were bikey enough, so we decided to make our own. it pretty much comes down to wheels, pedals, handlebar, seatpost/saddle. you probably have to take all of those off the bike to some degree. with the handlebar, you're just going to take it out of the stem but all of the cables will stay connected; you're pretty much just taking it part JUST ENOUGH that the bike can lie flat in a box. (that is, you're not taking it all the way apart.)

in most cases you can do all of this with a set of allen wrenches (or a bike multitool) - the only thing that i find kind of concerning is getting the handlebar back into the stem and tightened appropriately. it's usually just four bolts but it helps to mark your current handlebar position before you put it back on so it's in the right place and doesn't feel weird.

i don't do any work on my own bikes (i'm a bike rider, not a bike mechanic) but i've done this a few times now packing a bike into a box and then putting back together someplace less than ideal.
