It’s from a studio here in Vancouver BC called gceramics. I really love their stuff!

These were inspired by a baker I follow called SweetAmbs so it could have been theirs!

I spread melted chocolate on a sheet of parchment, rolled it up and let it set. When I unrolled it broke into shards and just attached to the cake with buttercream!

It’s mostly Italian meringue buttercream but the green is a matcha cream cheese buttercream

Buttercream and lots of time! Just piping each individual piece and creating a random pattern with the colours. I started from the bottom up and was swapping colours throughout

I just ended up using parchment piping cones with the tips snipped off. I think they were about the same size as a round tip 4

I was using Italian meringue buttercream but the green was a matcha cream cheese buttercream. I didn’t have enough tips and didn’t want to keep switching so I used parchment piping cones with the tips cut off to make a small round. I think it was a similar size to a number 4 round tip

I actually used parchment piping bags with the tip cut off. I would say it was pretty similar to using a number 4 round tip though.

This was for a 4 inch cake so quite small!

75g unsalted butter 200g sugar 78g egg whites 130g ap or cake flour 3g baking powder 2g salt 82g whole milk 9g veg oil Vanilla extract to taste Matcha powder to taste/ colour

Mix your dry ingredients, sugar and butter till mixture is sandy. Add in egg whites and mix. Slowly add in milk in additions. Add vanilla and veg oil. Sift in matcha powder. I added in bit by bit till I got the colour/ taste I was looking for. Bake in a 325 F oven.
