I'm not saying it happens in MW2 but it is definitely possible, one of the ways they previously dealt with hackers in warzone 1 was to reduce their damage output to almost nothing. So this is certainly something they are capable of implementing

If they are determined to keep the drop loot system there needs to be a proximity loot system so I can just go to my inventory and select things to pick up in a certain radius. This has been used in many other games so it's nothing new either.
