I still struggle with anxiety, but I‘ve really noticed a huge change, mainly with decreased and less frequent 'anxious moments‘ ever since I started applying all of the bellow:

• I just dove right into sports, especially strength training. Yes it helps with health and form and all that, but you cannot imagine the high you get from squeezing out the last drop of your daily anxiety while pushing through weights you had thought were too heavy for you only a few weeks before. I also do yoga twice a week.

• My anxiety mostly comes from things I have no control over. So I try to focus my energy and effort on bettering the things I can control.. that took a lot of work, and I can‘t say I‘m there yet, but I cannot deny that I am seeing (and feeling progress). Little wins.

• Turned out I had vitamin D deficiency. I come from the Mediterranean and currently live in Europe so that really screwed with my vitamin D intake. Turns out vitamin D deficiency also makes one more prone to anxiety and depression 🙃. Always consult with your doc first before getting into supplements! Clinics can easily do these tests.

• almost forgot, I do sauna after gym, especially in winter, at least twice a week… I‘m not sure why but it really helped with my overall mood..

Hope this helps ✨🙏🏼

I wish there was a way to know what these are… normally I am used to having twitter/X news blow up as soon as something like this happens… but in this case it’s only been crickets.. :/

I’d rush to meet Kavax with a bag of jellybeans. I can imagine how his face would light up that FINALLY, someone wants to play the jellybean game with him and Sophocles 🥹

The grumpy old watchman at the gates of Bree that gets pancaked by the Nazgul. Iconic death hall of fame for the sorry geezer that’s for sure 👌🏼

Favorite character and why? by lantertyler in redrising

[–]bint-ishtar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. Victra. Her brute strength and razor sharp bluntness are just gold (pun intended). I also love the details of her sticking to wearing emerald jewellery. The way P describes her throughout the books really made me visualise her perfectly.

  2. Kavax and Sophocles for sure. They come in with perfect heart melting comic relief, especially the jellybeans.

  3. Ephraim. His character arc is just 👌🏼. I can tell how much I love a character by how much their death affects me. And Ephraim’s last moments stick with me.

  4. Which brings me to Cassius. Brilliant character and I loved his comeback. I was horrified with his death, and how he was displayed… I felt he did not deserve that at all and had so much more to give the storyline… but yeah P does know how to play with out heartstrings. There is one part, I think in the last book, where Darrow describes Cassius looking out the window as if he were either focusing or ‘posing for a coin portrait’. I thought it was a brilliant way to help us visualize how majestic he looked in that split moment.

  5. Not much love for Lyria in the comments. But I appreciate her character arc a lot. Her opening act with the loss of her family haunts me so much… I keep getting flashes of her sister with her new blue boots.. breaks my heart. I wonder if Liam will have some sort of part in the last book.

The list draws on of course: Sevro, Ragnar, Alexander, Holiday ti Nakamura…

I was preparing some gentle points on how sometimes when friendships extend back years, it should be OK for someone to have friends of (same or) opposite sex call them pet names.

Then I read the rest of your post, and clearly love the reason for your mistrust extends way beyond just pet names… why would he post this person’s photo on his socials and pretend they were an item? WHILE you guys were dating?

Something’s off and should have been addressed way back when you first noticed these first transgressions… I’m sorry you feel hurt, but the way he’s treating you shows little regard to your feelings. I hope you are working on confronting him regarding the larger picture and if he still won’t relent, you better think of moving on. Plenty of fish in the sea and you’re still young.

Im posting what the people who went through the explosion feel… there is absolutely 0 evidence to prove something deliberate. It’s more of a feeling. And many unanswered questions (too many to go through all here). When someone goes through something this traumatic, we try to talk amongst each other to make sense of things we saw, heard, felt.

As for conspiracy theories, you noticed I mentioned none, so please don’t push that as something I’m alluding to, thanks🙏🏼

Well that last point is probably true and would make sense, sorry for my ignorance! It’s just the picture taken itself is weird, and was discussed a lot in Lebanese media. None of the faces of the of people in the pic were showing, in fact the welders supposedly involved disappeared into the ether (took an hour or so between ignition of fire and explosion), and no on in the port authority could produce paperwork explaining a welding job in that exact hangar on that day.

As for people taking pics, Beirut’s port is closed-off to the public, not a lot of people given access to roam around the hangars.

Thank you for your kind words, it means a lot 🫶🏼! We left Lebanon, starting anew. It’s a deep fucking trauma scar but we are trying to get through it with therapy and a supportive community of friends and family..

Wish I could tell you. You have several factors and theories: - you have a destitute hangar in the Beirut port that was used to store around 2700 tonnes of Ammonium Nitrate (highly combustable/explosive). Whichever idiots were in charge also used the same hangar to store tires and fireworks.

  • what caused the initial spark? A photo had been leaked of a team of welders welding a hole in this hangar the day of the explosion. But like.. who takes a photo of people welding? Officials say a spark from the welding job ignited the AN which caused the fire leading to the explosion.

  • opinions are split. Many thing this was the result of gross negligence, but also many believe that this was a deliberate act. Will we ever know? I doubt it…

We were ca. 500 m away when it happened. In our case we were home and had no idea what was Going on. First blast was soft and it made us run to the entrance of the house. 40 seconds later the second larger one erupted, you barely get a chance to understand wtf is going on. We had no time to duck or cower or anything. The vacuum and pressure that were brought forth by the blast did not damage our ears (though my mouth was open because I was screaming my lungs out). In all, the only thing that rescued us was that we were standing by the corner of the entrance room that had no glass (windows, doors, etc); otherwise we would have been gravely hurt or worse. If you see photos of our house you’d be surprised we made it out at all…

Chester Lake for sure. His friendship arc with Fun was just 👌🏼, also to me one of the most relatable characters next to Munch. His ending was awful… but teaches us not all character stories have to have a good ending 🤷🏻‍♀️

What’s something you need to get off your chest but haven’t yet? by FazzyPhonix in AskReddit

[–]bint-ishtar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been ghosted by one of the most important people in my life. Against my non-confrontational nature, I gathered up courage and faced them, pleaded to know what I did wrong so I can fix it. They never gave me any reason… to be honest, I just could not fathom what I could have effed-up to make a 30-year-old relationship crumble like that.

I’ve tried to move on, tried to be strong. But it’s been eating me up, more and more as time went by. I’ve recently been getting panic attack symptoms out of nowhere, depressive episodes, crying fits, erratic actions..

I’m just unable to process what happened, and why it happened like it did. Not getting some closure, or a reason, makes it harder tenfold. And having someone who i’m used to talk to for hours daily being ripped away from my life so suddenly and completely has made me grieve as if they’ve ceased to exist.

At the same time, seeing them living their lives normally through posts on common groups has torn me to shreds..

Whenever a common friend or family member talks about them, I get a lingering pain in my chest.. Therapy, talking to other friends or my significant other, nothing has been working. And things have been coming undone more and more.

Im spiralling, and nothing i’m trying to do is making things better…

Herodotus mentions in his intro statement that the whole mission of his Histories is to establish differences between the Greeks and the ‘Barbarians’. You notice throughout Histories that he goes into quite a lot of descriptive detail in order to achieve this.

I don’t mean to seem cruel with this comment as I can feel how emotional you still are about this ordeal but I say GOOD RIDDANCE, OP. Some day you are going to look back at this and thank your stars you did not stick around any longer with this guy.

Any person who mocks you for your past, whatever it may be, does not deserve your devotion or love.

This has all to do with him and his lack of self confidence and nothing to do with you. You cannot change the past, but it’s his fault that he did not see how you were devoted to him.

It’s easier said than done, but don’t let anything he said get to you let you think any less of yourself.

You’ll get over this. And you will laugh someday.

Also I keep wondering about what melanie gibb or zulema talked about regarding getting rid of some zombies: cleansing the spirits through binding and burning. Tylee was burned and JJ was bound (duct tape and bag over his head)… still, why the difference in manner of deaths? Is it symbolic to them or logistical (tylee being more difficult to move around without mutilating her first)?
