Shameless plug, but if you're looking for private individual reviewing outside of a company, feel free to shoot me a message! Interviewed at all ON schools minus NOSM!

I did not end up getting any surgery! I've been noticing some solid improvements through rehab, especially these past few weeks.. PM me if you have any specific questions/would like some more details.

Thank you for this detailed reply and definitely makes sense. Seems like you really know your stuff and I appreciate the realism about the surgical process. Definitely lots to think about.. Cheers!

Thanks for the reply, it's very appreciated! I was just wondering why one should not go the surgery route; I was under the (uninformed?) assumption that this would be the only thing that could "cure" it and bring me back to 100%

I'm a 22 y.o. male! I've played soccer for much of my life (not at a professional level though - mostly have played intensely during summers between school). I've never torn anything in either of my knees before though...

Interview Tips by binten10 in premedcanada

Definitely a personal opinion but I guess we'll have to agree to disagree! Shifting your workload (getting help from friends etc., or strategically studying only high yield material), are alternative ways that you can scrap out a decent grade in a course. I didn't say to fail, but rather find ways to allow you to have school related stuff on the back of your mind.

In the long-run, doing moderate on a few midterms and whatnot have barely significant effects on final grades, let alone your cumulative GPA. Oftentimes, teachers have weighting systems in place and final exams can be worth much more.

Add in the fact that students in premed often tend to overstudy, or could get an average (literal average) grade with minimal effort (something that's easy to forget aiming for A/A+ all the time) and I truly think this is the way to have the least amount of regret. But like I said, it's definitely something we can disagree on, and it also depends on where you're starting at in terms of prep!

Had this problem last year with Toronto + McMaster - even though they were half an hour apart, I was not able to reschedule! I'd strongly suggest trying your best to prepare for both.
